J-41 Women's Lotus Mary Jane Flat

Mine showed up today and I immediately started to put them on. I was pleasantly surprised they were not at all wide on my relatively narrow feet! Well, I only tried the right one at first, tightened up the velcro strap, and after a few giddy steps was disappointed to find the part on top across the toes was loose. It didn't seem like a huge deal until I realized I could actually see a shadow from it on the top of my foot :( A few more steps and I knew if I kept these shoes I'd have one heck of a blister in the future. It made me so sad, but I decided to try the left shoe anyway. It fit perfectly! I'd have chalked it up to subtle differences in my feet, but I had the same problem with the J41 tahoe shoes I got in the same shipment. The left was perfect, the right wouldn't even stay on my foot! Sorry, not enough difference in my feet to account for that! (I admit, those tainted this review) I don't know if it was the way the shoes were made, or if someone with a bigger right foot tried both pairs before me. In spite of all that, I liked these shoes a LOT and will return them to try another pair in the same size. Fingers crossed, the next pair will be fine :)Update: tried a pair from a different seller. This pair fit my feet equally! It did have a slight rub on the inside next to the ball of my foot, but that was easily taken care of with a piece of moleskin on the inside of the shoe. Upgraded to 4 stars...

This seems to be a well-designed shoe. The fit for many people was noted as slightly small so I went ahead and ordered a half size up. I usually wear an 8.5 but I can also wear a 9 depending on the style. The 9 is perfect. My feet are wide and I have plenty of room in these. I like that these have an EVA insole (squishy foam similar to Crocs) because it’s shock absorbing and makes walking more comfortable. I have other shoes made with this material and look for shoes that have this. These are very easy to keep clean – just a damp rag with a little soapy water should keep them looking nice. The style is really cute and I have gotten several compliments in the few days I have had them. While they are almost identical shoes, the Jambu uses a memory foam insole instead of an EVA insole and they are not as comfortable to walk in – especially over rough surfaces. I bought both so I could get brown and black in my size. The fact that they have a slightly different flower cut makes them look different enough.

After a few minor irritations (but no blisters) during the break-in period (1-2 days), these shoes are very comfy for all day wear. They are very cute and lightweight, and I have received many compliments on them. The shoes are nice and roomy, but I had to order a 1/2 size up from what I usually wear, due to the flat toe box, as the nail on my big toe was in full contact with the inside top of the shoe at my regular size. With the 1/2 size up, that problem went away. I have wide-ish feet, and at my regular size, the shoes were plenty wide enough, but I didn't like the contact on my toes- it seems these were designed for folks with very flat toes... The tread is great, very grippy. The arch support is minimal, but my feet don't hurt when I wear them, so I find them acceptable. The insole has a 3-D trail map design, and if you get any dirt in your shoes, it will settle into the map design grooves. Not a huge issue, as it's easily cleaned out when you take off the shoes, but thought it worth mentioning.

I ordered these shoes because a friend at work had a pair of J-41s and she just raved how comfortable they are and I admired how cute they are. I read the reviews where many said that the shoes run small, but I went ahead and ordered my regular size 7. When they arrived, I could put them on, but my big toe was up against the toe box and it was uncomfortable. So I returned them for a 7.5, which made all the difference. (BTW, returns are extremely easy and quick).Although I don't wear them with any sort of socks or tights now, living in Arizona, I think they will easily transition from summer to winter wear by pairing them with tights. When I travel and am limited to the number of shoes I can pack in my suitcase, these are all I need as they go well with skirts or dresses as well as jeans.I love the feel of support and softness of the footbed and the ease and adjustment of the velcro strap. I would recommend them to any of my friends, but all I have to do is wear them, they recommend themselves.

I read a ton of reviews on these shoes before I bought them and noted that several people said they had issues where the Achilles area was a real problem. I was hoping that I wouldn't have an issue but I do. The first few minutes I wore them I was in love. After about 45 minutes I was in pain. I actually tried to be tough and wore them until I had some nice big blisters back there hoping that they would then be broken in and maybe my feet would have toughened up also. Not so much. I have kept wearing them because I just really want them to work. I've bought cushions to put in them to hopefully make them more comfortable- didn't work. There is apparently just something wrong with them, but it kills me because they are so stinkin' cute. I wish I could return them... I should also mention that if your foot in not a true medium width you are probably going to have an issue with them rubbing on your little toes as well. Ugh these shoes, so cute yet so painful. You would expect this kind of issue with a really cute stiletto or something-not a comfort shoe. Sadly, this is my first time buying J-41 and likely my last.
