WORX 20V 13" 3-in-1 Cordless String Trimmer/Lawn Edger/Mini Mower, WG173

I have used this model for about four months now. This is the only trimmer anyone would need to maintain any property. Changing the spool is pretty simple. The trimmer is light and feels like it's heavy duty. This trimmer is so powerful, until it negates the need for a separate edger. It easily converts from a trimmer to an edger. The dual feed .65 line has the strength of at least a .80 line. I even once chopped through some thick crabgrass in a community member's yard. I have some beautiful St. Augustine grass. The only concern is that the battery does not last as long as the previous models because of the power. I'll take the power over the longer battery life. This trimmer is the total package. It's highly recommended.

I made this purchase on 07/18/26, I quickly used and gave a review, so I guess I’m adding to the already existing review. After having to use this a few times, all I can say is WOW, I mean I liked this weed whacker before, but now I can’t say after using it a hand full of times, I can say this thing is worth it’s weight in gold. The battery is the 20V 4Ah battery and I have tried to run this thing down to only having 1 bar, but after weed eating edging and then moving the edging wheel bracket to make it into a mini mower I used that to get around raised garden beds(it works so much better) I could only manage to get it down to 2 bars remaining! All that work took about 55-60 minutes of nonstop use, and I was done before the Nitro was. I can hands down recommend this Worx 3-in-1 yard tool to anyone! I bought this Worx WG173 thinking I would end up sending it back, but the truth is I kicking myself for not buying it sooner! This Worx weed eater was so easy to put together, and it’s lightweight so it’s easy to get into difficult areas. Do not let the fact that it cordless keep you from making this purchase, I was putting this to the test, and I am finding this to an excellent value for the money. This Worx weed eater seems to be well built and for a weed eater is rather quiet. I’ve the 20V 4Ah battery and it lasted long enough to trim every thing I needed to trim. If you are on the fence about making this purchase, I say got ahead and buy it, I sure am glad I bought it.

The Pros - I think Worx products are good quality and it's handy to be able to use the batteries and chargers with different cordless tools. The trimmer works great and is lightweight and adjustable. The Cons - The Command Feed Button didn't work at all until I took the spool out and lubricated the orange bar under the spool that advances the string, and I have to lubricate it fairly frequently. Also, I ordered the free (pay for shipping only) "string for life" on the Worx website but it's the wrong spool and it's less expensive on Amazon anyway. This trimmer does not qualify for any free spools - at least for now. Worx hasn't updated their website to include this trimmer - fortunately Amazon posts a link to the manual on the item description. The WG173 uses WA0007 spools.

I went from a single string trimming head to double string that the Worx Trimmer offers. The power that this lawn trimmer emits is solid and propels its double string trimming head the cut though weeds and grass with little effort. This is a solid buy and I'd recommend this to any one needing to do a fair amount of residential lawn trimming on their property.

Terrible Product - battery charger is bogus; indicates that the battery is charged with solid green light then when you go to use it, it’s completely dead. First use of the season, battery on charger the whole winter season and it’s dead. Only when you remove it and place it back on charge does it start blinking green indicating it’s charging. The actual weedeater itself works nicely, but because the battery pack is proprietary you can’t use any other batteries on this weedeater. I have Ryobi and DeWalt batteries and none of them are compatible with the stupid mounting system. Highly recommend going with another brand and spending a little extra money to make sure the battery system works. Complete waste of time and effort. Please learn from my cheapness fellas.

I'm giving this little guy 5 stars even though there was a minor issue with the wheels. I get all the way around my property on one charge. It runs out about the same time I do, and time for a break. I thought the .065 line would be too small, but it does a great job. I've cut down 2' mullan weeds which are about 3/4" in diameter! After 3 full charges I'm still on my first spool of line. It's light, and doesn't overfeed line, and the line is always the right length. I just had to tighten the screws for the wheel clamp and clamp for the bar length adjustment. The wheels kept falling off before I tightened the screw. The wheels are a great help when weed whacking as they keep the trimmer off the ground and I can work it with one hand. The light weight is great. So quiet I don't need earplugs, I can even leave my hearing aids on! The small line doesn't throw rocks like my big gas walk-behind, so I don't have to worry about breaking windows. Very nice to handle in tight quarters with the light weight. Any gas engine I can eliminate from my life is a plus.

Much quieter than our Black & Decker much more power too. And the battery lasts about an hour. Very happy with this!

The Worx cordless string trimmer has been greatly crafted in design and works effortlessly when trimming and cutting my grass. If you need encouragement in what to buy and need a work horse to help you take care of your yard you won’t be disappointed with this product !!

Really happy with my purchase. I replaced on older Worx trimmer with single string to this one with two. Edging is a breeze as is general grass trimming. I recommend this brand and this trimmer.

Just received this and used it for the first time today. Trimmed up the whole yard (front and back) plus the alley as well. Only took the battery down 2 bars. The machine adapts to different users very easily and is so easy to use! This is my third Worx product (have the hedge trimmer and the blower) and we are very pleased with all of them. I would definitely recommend this product

My Hubby's comments... I have always used gas powered but getting older they were feeling heavy and concerned about gas fumes. My property is just under an acre with 3 gardens, numerous trees and fencing around the back. The trimmer is easy to use, lightweight and I did the entire property with just 2 batteries, That even included edging about 150 feet. The battery charged quickly. I definitely would recommend to family and friends.
