I am a bit of a Massimo Bottura fan and have all his previous books. This however is something entirely different and feels so special inside and out. it's a journey around his guesthouse in Modena but has some wonderful achievable Italian recipes that I want to cook all of. These are juxtaposed with the passion of Massimo and his wife Lara - music, culture, books, art and cars. it does really make you want to book a flight to Italy, visit their hotel and eat that breakfast!

Wunderschönes Buch – ein echtes Highlight zum Verschenken (oder selbst behalten!) Ich habe „Slow Food, Fast Cars: Casa Maria Luigia“ als Geschenk gekauft – und war so begeistert, dass ich am liebsten selbst eins behalten hätte. Das Buch ist einfach wunderschön gestaltet und macht richtig Freude beim Durchblättern. Inhalt & Gestaltung: Die Illustrationen und Fotografien sind mit viel Liebe zum Detail gemacht und transportieren wunderbar die Atmosphäre von Casa Maria Luigia. Die Mischung aus kulinarischer Inspiration, Rezepten und Einblicken in die Welt rund um das Haus und die Kultur ist sehr gelungen. Es ist kein typisches Kochbuch, sondern eher ein stilvoller Blick hinter die Kulissen – mit viel Herz und Stil. Als Geschenk sehr gut angekommen: Das Buch kam als Geschenk richtig gut an und war sofort ein Hingucker. Man merkt, dass es mit Sorgfalt und ästhetischem Anspruch gemacht wurde – ideal für Menschen, die Genuss, Design und schöne Bücher zu schätzen wissen. Fazit: Ein echtes Liebhaberstück – optisch wie inhaltlich ein Highlight. Wer Bücher mag, die nicht nur inspirieren, sondern auch schön anzusehen sind, liegt hier genau richtig. Ich kann es absolut empfehlen – egal ob zum Verschenken oder für den eigenen Coffee Table.

Even if your love for living and eating exceeds your actual cooking abilities, this might be the best cookbook you read all year. Sure, some of the ingredients are hard to find and some of the techniques are a little bit fancy, but this book is full of ideas for flavor combinations, food presentation, and isolating the moments on your property to make life just a little bit more special.
