Q: Does it have to be flushed? could i instead empty it down the bath? pipe with root isn't connected to the toilet. also is it effective for a hopper?

The instructions are loo focused and as such the powder is emptied in the loo and then it needs washing down the drain to where the roots are. I would be worried about putting it in a plastic bath and think it would be hard to get it down the plug hole. Re hopper surely it would be easier to just cut or pull the roots out.

Q: Can this be used to clear roots from cast iron pipe

I tried it but don’t think it worked. However it may have been a faulty batch as it did not foam in the pipe.
