A great puzzle, especially for seniors. Let's start with the fundamentals: I am a senior and I have difficulty seeing subtle color changes. Unlike in years past when I could take any puzzle with an interesting image and do it, I now require the pieces to be lettered on the backside so I can identify the general area where a piece belongs. I do puzzles for fun, not for frustration. This puzzle hits, for me, all of what I look for in a puzzle these days: lettered pieces (in this case, A-F or 6 sections), pieces that fit well together, and an interesting image. I spend hours every day working on puzzles, so a puzzle like this takes me about 2.5 days to complete. Some of the 1000-piece puzzles that are lettered are also very thin pieces that have trouble remaining together when using a puzzle mat as I do. But I this puzzle's pieces are thicker and thus stay together because they are wooden. (My only complaint is that the pieces are not non-glare.) I have also found that the key to doing a puzzle with an image like this (that is, one where there are subtle color variations) is to completely section the puzzle first. My approach is to sort the pieces by letter (all As together; all Bs together; etc). As I do that overarching sorting, I also separate out the edge pieces that will make the frame and the internal section division pieces. For example, this 6-section puzzle follows this pattern: CBA FED which means that I look for sectioning pieces that are lettered AB, BC, DE, EF, AD, BE, and CF, and set them aside (grouped so that each combination is in a separate pile) so that when I am done sorting the pieces I can first create the frame for the puzzle and then the internal sectioning BEFORE I start placing the pieces. (I use 10x10 sorting trays, which I lined with felt to keep the pieces from moving, to separate the pieces by section. I place the pieces image side up in the trays. Each section has its own set of trays.) After creating the frame and the sections, I usually start the puzzle by working with the pieces for section A. When that section is complete, I move on to either section B or D in this example. I am explaining how I approach puzzling in my old age because I have met too many seniors who are reluctant to do puzzles because they cannot see any of the colors well and too many seniors are unwilling to do larger (2000- and 3000-piece) puzzles. Using this approach, I gladly do the larger puzzles. My primary concerns when choosing a puzzle to do is that the pieces be lettered and not tiny. Bottom line is this: If you are a senior and this image interests you, go for it. The puzzle is fun and doable -- and the image is beautiful.

I really enjoyed the thick wooden puzzle pieces

This puzzle was quite fun to work on. It has letters on the back, so I sorted them out into piles and worked them in alphabetical order. If I was in doubt about whether a piece was in the right place, I just flipped it over; if the letters lined up, it was a match. One very unusual thing about this puzzle is that the pieces hold together so well, I was able to put together 6 or 8 pieces in my hands before placing them on the table. This gave relief to my back which gets tired leaning over the table. Yet, the pieces are not hart to put together. When the puzzle was entirely finished, I was able to pick the whole thing up in one piece, carefully, of course! Before taking it apart, I turned it over so I could see the letters, then I put all the same letters together in the box. The box comes with an easy-to-assemble divider that creates 9 sections to the box. Since there are 8 letters used, I used one section for overflow. I love the quality of this puzzle. The box needs to be a tiny bit larger.

Very sturdy. Little bit of a challange but worth it. Installed in a frame gave to a assisted living home. Looks good on their wall in the lobby!

i need more puzzles from this manufacturer or something because not a single piece bent. not a single pice peeled. they are thick and durable. the letters on the back are freakin awesome if you like to work in groups and finish the puzzle in a pleasing way. you have to really press the piece in which i love. i finished this in 14 hours, 12 of those consistently from the moment I opened the package. it’s beyond beautiful, the huge poster picture of it is way better than the small picture you get on the box itself. over all i have never finished a puzzle so fast in my life and now i want to do them all. 1000/10

Loved the divider it came with, and with the fine Organza Bag it is very giftable. The quality is exceptional and the colors brilliant. Therefore, it can easily be glued on the back and become a wonderful focal point in your home. If I were to discredit it, it would only apply to a select few. That is, it is really to easy to do. It was a one day project for me, and if I purchase another one made such as this, I will not use the letters, because it takes to much of the challenge away. I wouldn't hesitate buying this brand again.
