I’ve been a bearded dragon mama for about a month now. I was told to just get that terrarium turf at PSP. It’s messy, it leaves an odor and I really wanted to try something else. A product more realistic for his natural habitat. This sand was perfect, as everyone else pretty much shared it is pricey but I think it’s worth it. Bearded dragons are literally native to Australia 🇦🇺 I had no idea. My little guy crawled around was curious at first but he nuzzled up in the sand pretty quickly. It looks great, feels like true sand (assuming it is) and I’m excited for him.

My bearded dragon loves this and digs her spots in it. Great sand. I mix with a little calcium free top soil. It really does harden when you spray it with water so they can make their own tunnel. So fun.

Looks great in my Chuckwalla enclosure! Great coloration, and not as dusty as I thought it would be! Holds heat nicely and easy to spot waste for fast clean up!

This is the best substrate for bearded dragons since it comes directly from their natural habitat. My guy loves digging in this, and it’s pretty easy to clean. You need several bags to fill a properly-sized enclosure, but it is so so worth it. You don’t need to bother with mixing multiple substrates like you would with regular sand, so it’s super easy to use and set up. It also holds up well, and you won’t find yourself changing it out completely unless your dragon regularly eliminates in the substrate. Your dragon will be so much better off with this stuff!

I was genuinely excited to try this Australian Jurassic Sand for our bearded dragons’ habitat, especially because I was expecting a rich, red desert tone. When it arrived, I was so surprised by the color that I actually thought I had received the wrong one. Instead of red, it appears much more like a light yellow or soft tan. That said — once I got past the color disappointment — I was pleasantly surprised. The sand blend itself is excellent. It has a very natural appearance and creates a realistic desert look in the enclosure, even if it’s not as red as expected. More importantly, our bearded dragon seems to really enjoy it. One of our biggest concerns was health risk due to impaction, especially since loose substrates sometimes get a bad reputation. I was specifically watching to see if it would stick heavily to their food — and thankfully, it doesn’t. It adheres minimally, which gives me more peace of mind during feeding time. It’s also: Easy to spot-clean Low dust compared to many other sands Not overly messy outside the enclosure While I do wish the color leaned more red to better match our habitat aesthetic, the performance and quality have won me over. I will absolutely be purchasing it again. If you’re buying this strictly for a deep red tone, just be aware it’s more of a light desert shade. But in terms of functionality and dragon approval, it’s a solid choice.

Product is pricey but worth it. I had my dragon on a play sand/soil/excavator clay mix, I read up on Reptifiles.com and found this to be top recomendation for substrates, so i chose it when I cleaned out Igris's tank. After putting him back in his tank after cleaning, he went right to work digging and burrowing, which i never really saw him do on his old substrate. So he seems to love it.

30 quid for what I got is ridiculous the 10k bags are cheaper I didn't check the weight until I recieved my order I should of payed more attention so it's on me deffo not value for money at all

although the item came quickly it was damaged there was a hole in the bag and the packaging there was some substrate missing also creating a safety concern if anything has contaminated the substrate try to get a replacement and return this one but very confusing and not sure how it’s supposed to work with a hole in the bag
