Deep, rich cocoa
Love the cocoa. The packaging, not so much. I always spill it if I leave it in the pouch. As soon as I open it, I pour into a lidded container. But the cocoa is great, deep and rich flavor.

Delicious
I love this black cocoa! Great quality and great price. The taste is much different than regular chocolate, it has a very oreo-like flavor. A little goes a long way with this cocoa powder. I made cookies with it and they tasted great and came out very black, but without the same mouth staining effect that black food coloring has. Because of the alkalinity, you must use baking powder as the leavener (as baking soda requires acidity). I used a specific recipe tailored to black cocoa to make sure I avoided any problems.

Rich, dark flavor
Elevates chocolate cookies to a new level of rich, dark flavor and color. I used to use Hersheys Special Dark, but this is so much better. Also, I like that itโs Fair Trade Certified.

High quality buy it !!
I recently tried the Modern Mountain Baking Company's Black Cocoa, and wow, what an incredible product! The flavor is exceptionally rich and deep, truly living up to its "daringly dark" name. It's Dutch-processed and unsweetened, which gives you so much control when baking, and the quality is evident in every use. For such high-quality cocoa powder with such a superior flavor, the price is surprisingly reasonable. It's definitely become my go-to for all my chocolatey creations!

Good cocoa, pouch not so much
It's black, it's cocoa, tastes like chocolate. I'll use it for specialty baked goods I want the black color in. The envelope, tho economical to package, is not the best for use; it's difficult to seal once any cocoa powder gets in the zipper part, and very dusty if trying to pour because the powder gets static cling to the pouch and falls at different rates. I prefer Hershey's plastic containers with lids, so if I continue to get this item, I'll transfer it into one of those (carefully because it'll be messy to do from the pouch!). Lacking Star because of pouch and a little pricey for cocoa powder, but good product. Texture is the same as any other cocoa powder, very fine and light.

Not the very blackest, but easier to use than the very blackest and quite good.
It's good. Not actually the blackest black cocoa I've ever encountered, but that was commercial-quality black cocoa that was actually something you wouldn't want to use straight, ever. I had a tough time using it all up over years. This stuff is very dark, not true black cocoa (but for most home-cook applications, that's a good thing, not a bad thing). You can actually use this on its own without it being terrible, which you can't say of true black cocoa. I got it because I wanted a truly dark-chocolate Buche de Noel, and that's what I used it to make. Would also like to make a nice very dark-chocolate Swiss Roll. For *really* black cocoa, I have obtained it in the past from King Arthur Flour. Not sure if they still carry it. As I said, for most home cooks, real black cocoa is overkill, something you're more likely to mess up with, because you absolutely shouldn't use it by itself. This stuff is quite good and can be used without worry.
