MasterClass Shallow Casserole Dish with Lid 4L/28 cm, Lightweight Cast Aluminium, Induction Hob and Oven Safe, Black

I bought the shallow 4litre for my mum to take her lasagne ragu from the hob to the oven. We made ragu with 900g of mince and there was ample space in the dish for that and all the veg. It heats quickly and evenly, and cleaning was so quick and easy, no need to soak. I was so impressed, I ordered one for myself, since then I've made a vegetable dish using a kilo of veg, again, ample room. Tonight I made sausage casserole with 12 sausages and 500ml of stock, no spillage when stirring. I cannot recommend this dish enough. It is lightweight, I can lift it with one hand to tip ragu out.Of course the handles get hot, it is CAST, the clue is in the name. The handles aren't added on, the whole thing is cast as one piece so of course they'll get hot, that's what enables it to go from hob to oven and heat evenly. If you're not used to cast you will definitely forget and touch the handles like I did, but you'll only do it once! A tea towel or oven glove is enough to handle it but you can get the silicone mitts too. Don't let the hot handles put you off, this dish is a game changer!

I wanted to make sure I reviewed this great looking stove to oven dish as I've tried and tested and I'm so happy with it!It's a great large size (we're a family of 5 and there's room for a lot more too!), well made, sturdy, yet light in weight. It has a really good heat distribution and great at being non-stick! It also cleans really well!It's so easy to cook food on the stove, then transfers to the oven really well (obviously the handles get hot, as all pans of this type do. it's not a problem to use oven gloves)I would thoroughly recommend, love cooking with it!

I think I got this on sale for £30 and I would have paid full price for it. Really well made, cleans up a dream, is light and easy to carry. Has been used all autumn and winter and still looks brand new. Amazing value.

A very useful lightweight item, easy to use to brown food then finish in the oven in one pot. Contents do not stick and it's easy to clean. Sturdy and robust but light to move even when full (the weight was what put me off buying a cast iron pan). However, you should be aware because the item is fully cast, the handles heat up immensely to same/hotter temp than the pan itself and a normal dish towel, grab pad will not be enough to cut the heat coming through to your hands. You cannot touch the handles at all and heavy-duty oven gloves are needed. That said, I am continuing to use and enjoy the pan and anticipate doing this for a long time.

For the price, it's an epic find and strongly recommended. The interior surface is non stick and very easy to clean.Versatile use - have made soups, pasta dishes and meat, all to a high standard.The self basting cover is a nice little add that actually does the job too.Haven't yet tested it in the oven other than maintaining heat on prepped food.Important note - it's easy to forget that the handles get red hot when you're cooking, so possibly worth investing in good quality silicone handles, as we've already burned a tea towel that hung down from holding on to the handle and caught some of the hobs flame..!Other than that, a real 5 star purchase, well worth the money - strong buy.UPDATE - can also confirm this works fine in an oven. Instruction state you shouldn't use at more than 180c, but I think we wer won about 200 for making a frittata and it was fine.

Had been considering an ovenproof casserole which could be used on the hob for some time and this one came top on a review; I decided to give it a try although my experience of going with recommendations has resulted in good and bad outcomes. However I have not been in the least disappointed; it's such a useful pan. Although it is lightweight it feels incredibly strong as opposed to flimsy and poorly made. I use it on and in the Rayburn and on a gas hob and in a convection oven and it has performed well on and in them all. I allow it to heat gradually even when I want to cook on the top at quite a high temperature and because of the fabulous non-stick coating minimal fat is needed. I haven't put it in the dishwasher as it is rather large but I have found it so easy to clean it still looks like new. I had taken note of the description and also the reviews which said that the handles do get very hot and they do - only to be expected in the oven but also they do on the hob. However I think remembering to use decent oven gloves (although I have to say I did invest in the silicon grips but haven't used them as my gloves work well) is not much of a hardship considering how well I have found this pan performs.

I bought the shallow casserole dish because I have a convection hob and have difficulty going from the hob to oven . This is a game changer for my cooking . Just browned a whole roast in it . The into the oven on a bed of veg uncovered . Came out amazing and made the gravy straight away . When washed came up like new . Love love love it

This is perfect it’s a great size beautifully made and light enough for me to carry across to the units when full. Exactly what I would expect from such a great supplier and manufacturer. Highly recommend.
