Best combination I’ve found at this price point.
Let me tell you this thing cooks. I read some reviews complaining about moisture accumulation during microwaving. This is a good thing not a bad thing. It traps all the moisture in the cooking chamber so that it does not dry out the food. Microwaves work by heating up water molecules in the food. As they heat they vaporize. If it were completely dry, then all the moisture would have escaped or it doesn’t work. Once 100% humidity is reached it will stop drying out the food as the moisture would not evaporate. So again seeing moisture accumulation is good during microwave function. Broil bake works better than any countertop oven I have had. In fact it works almost as well as the top oven in my kitchenaid double oven that costs 4500$. I am just using this during the renovations. But I will definitely keep it to use in my new kitchen because it heats up so fast and is great for smaller items. Combi cook is pretty awesome. It uses the bake and microwave functions together. It keeps things crispy on the outside while quickly heating them to the core. Defrost is also fantastic. Defrosts a full chicken breast without actually cooking any of it. Super great. I have not used the sensor cook function yet. The only con is that I don’t think it’s something children or anyone not intelligent enough about metal in a microwave. It comes with racks and such but you CANNOT use them in microwave function. They will spark. This is the reason I think most companies don’t make a microwave combo. User error. But if you are smart enough not to be dumb then you will love it. If you are a foodie cook on a budget, you will love this product!

Top of the line with shortcomings
This is, or better yet, has the potential to be a great microwave. It was much quieter than my 2012 Panasonic inverter microwave. This was my first convection microwave and I was pleased with the convection cooking. Unfortunately, the microwave power input was a disappointment. The microwave is advertised as using 1250 watts but this particular microwave is consuming 1660 watts at the wall plug using a killawatt meter. Another disappointment were the presets. There is no way to adjust or customize them. I, basically, ended up manually selecting a temperature and time. The included accessories were a good bundle. I feel the air fryer, bake trays, and racks should last through many cooks. The final disappoint was the user manual. The manual provides directions for operating the different functions of the unit, but does not give you the details of what the functions do, such as weight and/or time. For example combi-cooking does not detail how much time is microwaving and how much time is broiling/convecting nor does it give information on temperature. The high power consumption, however, was a deal breaker for me. I bought the microwave mainly because it was an inverter model and was supposed to make efficient use of its input power. Sadly, it was a poor performer in this regards. The unit was great otherwise. Update 12/11/2022: I've own the microwave combo unit for 2 months now and my attitude towards this microwave has changed. I know, truly believe, this is a great microwave. I've had a chance to air fry multiple chicken wings meals, convection cook sirloins steaks, convection bake a chocolate cake, convection cook both a store bought frozen pizza and a from-scratch homemade pizza, defrost both chicken and beef, microwave bacon, microwave a potato, and sensor cook/reheat a Hungry-Man frozen tv dinner. I promise each one of these items were cooked to my satisfaction. I did overcook some items and I did undercook some items. But I was persistent and eventually learned the right combination of time and temperature. I have since gotten over the power consumption issue and focused more on the useability of the microwave. I am completely happy now. One more thing is I have learned how put a cup of lemon juice water in the microwave and microwave it for 6 minutes. It makes cleaning oil, grease, and any stuck on particles easier to wipe or scrub off.

Several Issues - Look for a better or different unit
This unit, a TOSHIBA 7-in-1 Countertop Microwave Oven Air Fryer Combo does have a nice feature set. The ability to air-fry was the reason we purchased the unit. Unfortunately, Toshiba quality control and customer support is extremely poor. The unit itself It is very light and flimsy and just exudes an inferior product. The door rattles when you close it. The worst issue is that the turntable grinds and "groans" when the unit is on. We are not talking about a subtle sound, but a fairly loud noise grinding noise. We triple checked how the turntable is installed, but without any different result. Unfortunately, this started several days after the Amazon return period, so I had to contact Toshiba support. These are the most miserable support folks I have ever encountered. Their "requirement" to talk further to you is: a picture of the Model # plate, the order (that says PAID), and the serial #. Those 3 are no big deal, but they ALSO require a video of the problem, seemingly not a dig deal either. You send all 4 files in via text or via email. Well, text is pretty easy - so I sent all 4 files via text. No response from Toshiba. I called again (call #2), and they said they did not receive the files and to retext everything, which I did. No response from Toshiba, I called again, (call #3) and they said NOT TO TEXT, but to email the 4 files, which I immediately did. No reply from Toshiba. I called again (call #4) and they said they DID receive 2 files, but the video file and jpg of the order was not received and to send those two files via email again. No response from Toshiba. I called again (call #5) and they said to shorten the video and resend the email. No response from Toshiba. I called again (call #6) and they said to shorten the video to 10 seconds or less and resend, which I did. No response from Toshiba. I called again (yes this is call #7) and I again asked if they received the files. Initially they said "NO" BUT, they looked again and magically they found the "missing" two files and watched and listened to the video file. The customer support person agreed that I indeed had a valid issue and said the turntable sounded "terrible" and that Toshiba would issue a full refund. So at least I was partially satisfied with their response ------ BUT ----- on the morning of March 31st, 2023, Toshiba calls back and says "your refund has been denied". This is now call #8. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she explains that it is Toshiba policy to not issue a refund, contradicting what the prior customer service person said. She said the unit will now be replaced. OK - fine: Now 8 calls in total, about 2 hours of wasted time and the Toshiba customer service folks really don't know what end is up. Based on this experience, I am unlikely to ever purchase a Toshiba product again.

Lots to learn to use this thing
I ordered this to tide me over while we decide what to do about our aging kitchen. Our oven died... I was hoping this multi-function microwave would be a good replacement so I can keep using the "dead" one for storage. Received on May 31 - It's OK. Quite a bit to learn about using it. I keep the (marginally helpful) manual at the ready to make sure i get the steps in order. It does bake, air fry, broil and microwave but timing is not the same as a conventional oven. Air Fryer is slower than my old countertop one. I do like having all of these functions in one device - freed up a lot of counter space but it's taking some time to learn how to use it. More compllicated than I anticipated and I'm having to adjust both time and temperature to get desired results. Toshiba customer service was absolutely awful (I was told my model number doesn't exist, terrible VOIP connection, had to call 3 times to finally get some help and that was marginal). Manual doesn't address several issues and C-SVS told me NO, don't use foil ever, YES, it's OK to use foil (in convection oven.... Frustrating. Manual says racks can be used in COMBI Mode. Also says NO METAL when using microwave function.... (COMBI switches between other modes and microwaving....). Silicon bakeware is OK, silicon bakeware is NOT OK... Anyway, we'll keep this thing because it does allow me to bake. It's different from the stand-alone devices. Positives - nice design, solid unit, multi-functions do work as advertised, nice size and, best of all, the quietest running microwave ever and you can turn off the "it's done" dings!!! A nice feature. Microwave function does build up quite a bit of moisture which, as others have noted, is solved by just leaving the door open for a bit. The accessories are very well made and very handy. We got it on sale - price was very fair. One review said the main switch stopped working in 6 months - has a 1-year warranty. I'll check back in after using for a while. I recommend with the caveat that you be ready for a pretty steep learning curve if you buy one but it's already becoming easier after a week of using. I do not use microwaves for food prep so I don't have that skill set to build on. Checking back in in July 2024 - have had for 6 weeks and getting used to how to cook in it. It's different and I'm still learning how to use it. All in all, happy with this purchase but still wish my oven hadn't died..... Checking back April 2025 - it's gotten easier to get things to come out the way I like but all-in-all I would really like to trade this one in on a Breville Toaster Oven that has OPTIONAL convection, a counter top air fryer and a new small (just for heating a cup of coffee which is just about all we use them for) microwave. Pros are the Toshiba still works well, looks good, is holding up great - no problems at all - I no complaints or issues with the quality of the device. It's a good thing but I sure still miss having a regular old oven. I wish they'd made the convection function optional. I'm leaving my review at 4 stars for that reason. 3/29/2026 - checking back in to give a final word on this device. Oven was purchased May 27, 2024. It's now almost 2 years old and it's no longer working very well. Still heats. Still "nukes" but the turntable has stopped working reliably and when it does turn, it turns slowly, makes creaky groaning noises and frequently stops while oven or microwave is running. I called Toshiba customer service and was told it was probably cheaper to buy a new one than to fix this one. Totally out of warranty, of course, and they said it really shouldn't be having this problem this soon but there was nothing they could do.... So overall I have to say I'm extremely disappointed in this device. Less than 2 years of use and it's no longer functioning as designed. Has been replaced with a countertop oven (which allows turning off the convection) and a really fancy coffee-heater-upper (microwave). Still cheaper than replacing the original gas oven. 1st world problem..... I hope other buyers of these Toshiba multi-function ovens are getting better performance than we got. Will not be buying their products again.

A wonderful, versatile oven!
I am so happy with this oven! It is so quiet that when I am not in the kitchen I don’t even know it’s on. The air fryer seems to take a bit longer than the air fryer that I have that is strictly air fryer only, but I’m still playing around with it. The convection oven works really well. I used it the other night to defrost solidly frozen stew beef and it came out perfect! It didn’t cook any of the meat. It just gently defrosted it. This oven is on the small side so I’m not sure that it would be good for families. One or two people would be better. It comes with two racks and two pans for use in everything but the microwave. I have not used the baking pan yet, but I have used the crisper pan and it works really well.I highly recommend this microwave/air fryer/convection oven/broiler!

Versatile Space saver
It took me four tries to finally get the right combo unit. Firstly, I have limited counter space. I wanted an airfryer originally. Got one but it had peculiar issues I was not expecting or what happens when you mix molded plastic with high heat. Decided that the unit I buy must be all metal with limited use of plastics both for recycling latter on and reducing BPA contamination. That's when I decided to look at the combi function appliances. Setting this as the prequel to my review for the purpose of contexting my following comments on this unit. I want to make it obvious That this item has limitation many of which have been written in previous reviews. Had , I had a bigger counter , more space ,etc. I would have made my kitchen gadgetry demands and purchases quite different. Pros' This unit does indeed do all that it is asked to do. It has plenty of power (Wattage) to serve all functions. It is well built , good looking on the counter takes less space than my old microwave. The microwave wattage is larger than my previous one so it does better than my old one. The unit produces no unwanted odors. It has smaller clearance valve to other objects and walls than most of the others, another important factor in my decision. The benefit of the combi functions where I can microwave and airfryer ( convection) or broil at the same time. This is a huge time saver in cooking while at the same time giving a higher desired result than just microwaving food. Personally , I would love to have bought the 1.6 cu ft. the 4 in 0ne model instead , but its size was still to big for my counter. Overall I am extremely pleased and would indeed recommend. Cons' Most who have read the reviews with this model will hear some of the same things regarding this unit> Alas, No mechanical device is perfect either by design or omission for the sake of trying to do to much with one item. So, yes the presets and the controls are a complete boondoggle to the mind and renders simplicity of use to the back of the line. I actually wasn't originally going to buy this, because of this fact alone, and did in fact try another model, one of my many tries. It was one of the highest rated and most expensive one. But it was a clunker to me and didn't at all appear to be built to last, I returned it quickly without a second thought. The number of combinations this unit has for cooking I guess just makes difficult for any controller to be easy and I assume they all suffer in this way. It is manageable and I am gradually gaining confidence in selecting the right combinations of pushes and selections to match my own desired cooking results. Other than this unit is operates flawlessly. Is easy to use and keep clean. I will address one other concern or flaw that some have commented on, "the moisture build up" . Indeed , if one does not pay attention this does indeed happen. It is a minor issue, INMO, that is easily remedied by leaving the door open after using the unit for about 10 mins. It does not happen all the time and is only the result of certain cooking functions and types of food being cooked ( mostly liquid beverages or soups and Microwaving). I assume somehow that this unit has an interior insulating blanket or mat to keep the outside metal from becoming to hot. I am guessing it also inadvertently creates a moisture barrier for the inside. As stated it is only relevant to to easily comprehensible cooking functions and types of food/ beverage which are understood immediately and one knows to not close door after this use and allow for unit to air out. Much like modern washing machines require that the door be left ajar. Overall a great purchase worth the money spent. Thanks.

You can't use it without the cheat sheet. Horrible interface with unrecognizable controls.
I love the "idea" of an all in one. They put everything I want into this device to cook in sample sizes except usability. The user interface is minimally usable, focused on microwaving and defrosting foods. This is not just a microwave. So the idea would be that if you want to build a menu system, don't do it this way. They built every extended and common feature under a system of button holds, presses and dial selection. None of which make a positive memorable working experience. Without the diagram sheet, there is one double sided sheet of function selections, one would never be able to figure this out in a reasonable amount of time. Poking and pressing and accidentally coming across controls is NOT how machines are supposed to work. I have worked with industrial controls that came with books. That was my job to define criteria and program the interface to control large machinery. But to do this for a kitchen device is just ignorant and careless. We pay more for equipment with clear and concise User interface designs in the kitchen. Our world in the kitchen needs to be refined and clear so we can get the work done at speed. Toshiba failed miserably here. I want the tools within the device, but they didn't even give us a screen that prompts with words. There is nothing leading you through the menu except the operator cheat sheet. Just terrible. The other complaint I have is related to how much water vapor this collects inside. It simply doesn't evacuate the moisture. It pools and fogs up and when you open the door, sweating beads and streams flow readily out of the machine. Yet the fan is howling the whole time. heat is venting but none of the water vapor is. Just a silly ignorant function to have in an already silly and ridiculous unusable menu set. Oy. So if you are an over achiever, or despise the "new way" of screwing up tried and true systems, or if you just want to get to work dammit, don't get this unless you want a $360 dollar laugh of frustration and ridiculousness added to your life. If you don't care about having to hang up a sheet that they didn't even laminate from getting wet - from the wettest cooking device I have ever used, and you don't mind learning this like a first time smart phone user on an unlocked android device, then go ahead knock yourself out. I won't call it a waste of money because it does stuff and takes up small space for what it does, But it is a waste of time and effort. Oh well.

Fantastic oven!
This is our first multi-function microwave and we are loving it! After about a month of use, here are my pros and cons: Pros: Small footprint - This is the same size as our smaller microwave was and is able to fit in our very small kitchen. Quiet - This is the quietest microwave I have ever used. When my wife is heating up her coffee in the morning, I am unable to hear it running from 15 feet away. It is louder when using the convection/air fry mode because of the fan, but that just brings it up to normal microwave levels (or less) Versatility - We have used all of the modes and it is amazing what can be cooked/reheated in this thing. Being able to microwave something, then air fry something else without swapping out appliances is fantastic. Usability - The buttons are clearly labeled and the knob is intuitive. I also like being able to turn the beeps off when I am using it at night. Cons: Hot surface - We were used to keeping some things on top of our old microwave, but since this one is also a convection oven/fryer, it can get hot on the top when frying things. It also needs a bit more room on the sides and back for air flow, which makes sense for cooling. Cooking codes - The codes for what mode to use (A01 = popcorn, A02 = beverage, etc...) are inside the door and written very small, so trying to read them is difficult. We memorized the ones we use the most. Confusing 'combo' instructions - There is a 'combo' mode which is supposed to use both microwave and convection cooking and it says the tray and rack are OK to use, but you can't use them with microwaving...which breaks my brain a little bit. Looking online it seems many other people feel the same confusion. TLDR: We absolutely love this oven. It is able to quickly and quietly do microwave tasks as well as cook up frozen fries or wontons (or perfect little potatoes!). Highly recommended.

Defective within 10 months of use
Horrible. I am extremely unsatisfied. This item stopped working and began sparking and smoking within 10 months of use. Amazon, the seller, and Toshiba have been unhelpful in resolving the issue.
