I’m a big lover of our national parks - especially those in the Rocky Mountains. I became a fan in junior high when my family of six took a 11 foot camping trailer to Yellowstone! It was our first camping experience, and needless to say it was quite an adventure. My brother and I ended up sleeping in the station wagon and watching the bears lumber through the campground in the dead of night!All of these memories came flooding back, when I read LUCKY ARNOLD’S ROCKY MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE. The story, written in verse, will transport you to the Rockies. You’ll smell the pine trees and the campfire smoke. You’ll meet the mountain animals and experience the kindness and friendship that happens when a fellow creature is in trouble.Arnold is a mouse who loves to ride along in the cozy glove box on camping trips with his adopted family, Papa Moose and Mama Fox. When he learns they’re on their way to the mountains, he slips his red mittens into his backpack to be ready for the snow he’s positive he’ll find. However, Arnold is crushed when they arrive at the campground and finds the landscape is lush and green. That is until he spies snow on a faraway mountain peak. He decides to sneak out during the night to find the snow, but his plans are suddenly changed when he realizes he can’t ignore a fellow animal in need.This book about friendship, caring and putting others needs first is one you’ll want to share with your little ones, especially before a mountain adventure.

An absolutely wonderful story with beautiful illustrations! My daughter loves when I read her this book! We want to read about more of Lucky Arnold's adventures!

A fun story paired with amazing illustrations. Any kid will want to read it over and over again, especially those who love camping, adventures, and the Rocky Mountains!

My kids loved my reading this book to them since we go to the Rocky Mountains every year. I sure hope the author does more books like this!
