Great for gamers with some experience. Some of the concepts are a little confusing but the game play and strategy is very good with lots of re-playability.

A really enjoyable game, and crucially a strategy board game that can be enjoyed with two players!Played between two board games fans but not quite enthusiasts, and for us the complexity to the initial set-up and rules was very daunting. I would recommend players watching one of the numerous 20 minutes how to play videos on YouTube before as this gave us a sense of how the game is played, then dive into the rule book! The manual is thorough and initial set-up seemed to take an age as you try to understand the different pieces. Likewise, understanding "phase a", "phase b" and "phase c" of a turn is a lot to take in and the different actions, requirements and rewards and assigned symbols are also a lot to take in to the point where we nearly gave up......That said...After 2 or 3 turns both players had a good grasp of how the game is played and what to do each turn, and practice makes perfect as they say! In any first playthrough our first game is really just a trial run (and indeed our misinterpretation of the rules led us to playing our own game with our own rules for part of it!), but by the end of the game both players were understanding of the strategy and different avenues to victory points. Upon completion of the game were ready to dive in again and play another round!What I am hoping to convey is that even for board game fans, the initial shock of the different gameplay elements could be enough to put you off. Do not let this be the case! It's a fun game, and acquiring the different cows and building your defacto cattle empire is really enjoyable! Thankfully there are a number of different ways to win and acquire your points which keeps the game varied. Give it a go if you are a fan of strategy/cards in your hand based board games!

I love this game. Do watch some you tube videos for instructions to play. The manual is a little poor. Also be prepared for 1hr per player.

The first game where I didn't fall out with my husband, and he didn't get bored but agreed to play over and over again. I've been looking for a couples game for a long time. I'd say it's even better to play two people.It took us a few good hours to read the rules and set up the board, but once you read it it's all very clear.

Works as two player game.Really works with more players.Not that complicated- the rules need a it of study but it all makes sense as you start to play.Thematically good too.

Love this game. Played it a number of times since buying and has now become a favourite in our group - recommended.It is worker placement and building game and reasonably easy to pick up. Lots of ways to hamper your competitors, too!
