Perfect for cleaning up pipe threads.
For the price, this is a perfect way to clean up the threads on larger sizes of pipe. The material from the big box stores often has damaged or clogged threads. The unit is solidly made. I did not test it for cutting threads, but it really helped with my work with 1” black steel pipe.

Absolute junk. It would not grip enough to start threads and falls apart during use.

Great Tool
Could use some instructions. Should have some knowledge of the workings of tool. I used no cutting oil, since this was a hand cutting tool and I had water still flowing out of galvanized pipe to keep it cool. Cutting oil is for machine cutting. Keeps the pipe cool.

Works and just what I needed.

I used an overzealous amount of oil, but I just collapsed the pipe.
Could have been the galvanized pipe I was trying to thread, but it just collapsed. I'll try it again when I have time.

This is a BSPT, British Standard Pipe Threader. Not compatible with National Pipe Thread. The pictures are not clear enough to see that. OK if you need BSPT, but I never use BSPT, so I'm not sure how good the threads are with this tool.
