UV Resin Kit with Light, 60g UV Glue for Bonding & Curing in Seconds

As a sculptor and model maker, I have used polyester and epoxy resins for more years than I care to remember, and recently thought I would carry out some experiments using DecoRom hard UV Resin, and I have to say I'm impressed!.. I should perhaps also point out that I also invested in a small UV tourch as recommended, and I would advise anyone buying UV resin to do the same, otherwise you will be missing out on one of the most impressive reasons for useing UV resin. Unlike the other 'two component' resins I use there is no initial mixing required, which in turn mean less air entrapment. You just squeeze the required amount out of the bottle into a silicone rubber mould, or apply as required and shine the UV tourch on it for a minute or two (sometimes less). The consistency of the resin is what I would describe as "gloopy" or a little thixotropic, a bit like warm golden syrup, which means it's good for building up on, and coating objects. It was a gloomy winter's day when I carried out my first experiments and this gave me loads of time to work the resin into the intricacies of the mould, and disperse entrapped air before subjecting the resin to UV light. The UV light has to be able to penetrate the resin to produce a positive and complete cure, and this is an important fact you need to keep on mind. Use translucent silicon rubber moulds, do not use too much pigment, or filler,or you will be disappointed in the results. I believe UV resin has been developed for it's clarity, and translucent affects, so if you are looking to create opaque objects, this is not the resin to use. I only used small quantities and didn't detected any odor, so I was more than happy to use it in the house. I also purchased the relevant UV resin pigments, which are very concentrated and therefore must be used sparingly to produce a wide range of vivid translucent colours. Application of UV light almost instantly cures the resin, but the resin doesn't reach its full hardness for a few hours, or longer periods of UV light exposure. Would I recommend DecorRom resin to my friends? Definitely, it's great fun!

UV resin - before you buy this product you need to know that you will need few accessories in order to use it. They have to be moulded - so buy a set of moulds. The silicone ones for decorating cakes will do too, just make sure they are perfectly clean, otherwise there will be imperfection in produced product. Then they have to be dried out - what we found is that UV lamp work best. The higher vol the quicker the results. If you having problems with creating check out YouTube for how to videos, they were very helpful for us. It will be hit and miss at the beginning but after a few goes it will get better. We have spent hours doing these and my niece was very happy with it. I recommend it to older kids as it require precision work. My niece is 11 and she was very happy to receive it as a birthday gift.

This is perfect for the correct application. Parts to be joined must be transparent so the UV light can get in. Used on glass and on acrylic.

I purchased two of these kits. The UV pen in the second is very very weak - so the quality control is obviously very poor. If you don’t get a strong UV beam - yours is defective. See the difference in the photo. Both are fully charged and barely used.

Works well for small projects

Après de nombreux épluchages d'avis sur de nombreuses résines UV proposées sur le site, je me suis décidée pour celle ci pour un premier test. Je rajoute aux autres avis positifs, c'est un très bon produit, elle ne sent pas, n'a produit aucune fumée ou odeur pendant le durcissement. J'ai respecté le temps de chauffe indiqué sur le produit et la prise a été très rapide et s'est passée sans encombres. La résine est bien transparente et produit peu de bulles si on sait l'appliquer correctement. Si je devais lui reprocher deux choses ce serait l'opercule de protection qui est une vraie plaie à enlever et son flacon qui gagnerait à être disponible en plus gros, c'est tout !

I bought it after I saw it on a Youtube video from a person who sells items finished with it. It's the best UV resin I've ever worked with. Haven't tried it with pigments yet, but as far as normal use goes, it cures perfectly both under the lamp and the sun. It's not tacky at all and looks very shiny. If you sand it with a 2000/5000 grit, it'll get a nice matte finish too, perfect for my figurines.

Great for those little spots where you just need a drop of glue and the little light is perfect.

Cette résine est parfaite, moi qui étais habituée aux bi-composantes je suis conquise. Très beau finit lisse et brillant, dure et facile à manipuler. J'espère qu'elle ne jaunit réellement pas aux UV parce que c'est parfait comme ça. Merci

Ho impiegato diverso tempo prima di scegliere quale resina uv acquistare, molte tipologie vengono recensite come difficili da usare, da indurire, ma questa mi ha ispirato una certa fiducia. Il rapporto quantità prezzo era buono e ho voluto provare. Sono contenta. Il procedimento è molto più semplice di quanto pensassi. La resina è fluida, chiara, non fa molte bolle, è facile da gestire. Indurisce rapidamente sotto la lampada uv apposita. Anche dopo l'indurimento la resina resta trasparente e chiara, non ingiallisce nel tempo. Sono soddisfatta anche dalla durata del prodotto, lo uso da quasi un anno e non è ancora terminato. Bene su tutta la linea!
