White Cooked Asparagus 520g

Really tasty fat asparagus the size of cigars!!

I love white asparagus, this is quite a good product but all the tips are broken in the jar. Quite expensive for what it is

The asparagus turned up looking just as it does in the photo - six white spears the size of cigars. The texture is perfect and the flavour is gorgeous. Fabulous with vinaigrette or aioli.Obviously the weight of the glass jar adds to the cost, but for a special occasion these are a great purchase, particularly as they are so difficult to find in British shops.I've only given four stars because the tips of the spears were damaged on arrival, presumably due to having been bounced through the postal system. This didn't ruin them for me, but it might be a problem for someone planning to serve them at a dinner party.UPDATE - I have had a number of jars since my first order, and all have arrived in perfect condition, just as scrumptious as the first, and with the tips usually in tact.

Disappointed as tips of asparagus were 'flaky and unappetising'.Will try to find similar product.

Good white asparagus are not easy to find in the UK and Spanish food websites are usually extremely expensive so Amazon is my source to stock my pantry.I use them as a side dish as an alternative to salad, or in salads as an ingredient.I have ordered them in tins before but I find jars much better as I don’t eat them all when I open the jar (my husband is not very fond of them) and I can close and put them back in the fridge (lying so that the remain liquid cover them all and they don’t get dry)

I bought this as I was unable at the time to buy fresh white asparagus which I use to make a German soup (Spargel) I was wrong it did not do the job I expected. There may be other uses for this particular product but not for cooking.

Delicious but quite pricey - unfortunately. I do love white asparagus - bought some fresh whilst we were in Germany. YUM!
