Extra Mixing Bowl Convenience
When I make my Christmas cookies I frequently do several batches at a time. All my recipes call for refrigerating mixture for about a half hour before forming and baking. An extra bowl really helps keep things moving. It fit perfectly on my Kitchenaide.

works, not as nice or heavy duty as OEM
While it does work, it is not up to OEM design or finishing features. To start with, it weighs a good bit less at 1lb 3oz (549g) compared to the OEM bowl at 1lb 11.9oz (791g). Which means it is made from thinner metal and thus likely less durable to dents and dings and so forth. It is also quite clear that the formed shapes all around are not nearly as precise. The handle is a very basic tubular shape with sharply bent corners at the top and bottom, while the OEM bowl has much more user-friendly rounded shapes and curved finger indents, etc. The base that locks into the mixer stand is also vastly less well formed. The OEM one once again has far superior, deeper, and meaningful shapes. This one just barely has any shape at all, but it actually does lock into the stand decently. Upon removal I did note that the base had taken on some scratching and forced shaping, as it is not exactly the right dimensions and shape to fit the base as well. And finally, the central cone inside the OEM bowl is significantly higher and more pronounced than that of this replacement bowl. The whisk doesn’t quite make contact with it as it does in the OEM bowl. How much that has an effect on performance in use will likely vary based on what you are mixing, it just may not scrape up every last bit of ingredients on the central cone.Overall, it’ll work, but it won’t be as comfortable on the handle, could dent more easily, etc.

Does not work with the 4.5 classic kitchen aide
Description states it fits a 4.5 classic, it fits in the stand, BUT the bowl is too wide for the beater to mix thoroughly.

Better Quality For Cheaper
I like this steel bowl better than the one that came with my mixer, direct from KA, that became rusty all over after the first dishwashing, unlike this one. This bowl fits snugly into my Artisan 5 Qt RRK150 mixer. It is overall very similar to my mixer's OG bowl design, just a bit thinner, slightly less rounded handle, but the steel actually seems better quality.

Check your KitchenAid model! Not a universal fit.
My mom is an avid baker and has several KitchenAid mixers. I got her this bowl as a second to have on hand when making things that need a mixer for multiple parts of the recipe. However, I didn't look closely at the specific model of KitchenAid and this bowl doesn't fit her 40+ year old tilt head mixer. It is a solid bowl with a handle, but alas, I didn't verify the specifics!
