Well rounded magazine, just a little on the light side
I've been into alternative medicine and health since my late teens. I was looking for a magazine that had info on food, exercise, healthy lifestyles, etc., but one that wasn't just aimed at women, nor a narrowly-focused speciality magazine. If that is your goal, Experience L!fe may not be your only choice, but magazine stands are not running over with them, that's for sure.Getting my first issue, I think the magazine has about a 70/30 ratio of female to male articles. One article on a NFL quarterback, mixed in with some articles on yoga, exercise, the hazards of antibiotics and soy, healthy eating, stuff for kids, etc.But hey, that's 30% more stuff for guys than most similar magazines, so I'm not complaining. The health information seems solid. The magazine seems to be put together nicely. All in all, it seems like a magazine you can feel good about. My one and only complaint is that it seems just a little on the light side. I had read most of what I intended to read of my first issue in about 45 minutes. It has about the typical amount of ads in it for a magazine these days, but when you factor them out, again, just a little light on content. That's why I gave it four stars instead of five.Since it seems the staff reads these reviews, maybe they will beef it up just a little in the future.

Terrific health magazine, especially if you're into functional medicine
I just purchased an additional two years of this magazine because I enjoy it so much. I am a nurse practitioner with a busy practice using both traditional and functional medicine. This magazine has so much wonderful, empowering information about nutritional and health. For example, there is an article about skin problems (including eczema, psoriasis, and acne) that I frequently print out from the website and give to my patients with skin complaints, many who have been on topical treatments and oral medications without relief for years. It is really wonderful to see people come back months later off of those medications and with fewer skin complaints after making dietary changes (which aren't easy by the way). I always get a boost when I see the magazine in the mail. I don't know why there are so many reviews about the magazine upset about one person being on the cover. It seems kind of crazy to me. I read about people in magazines that don't share my same philosophies all the time and while I might write a letter to the editor I would hardly be trying to destroy the magazine months after that issue came out. I don't know who Vani whatever is because I don't follow many bloggers but I'm confused about why people are so obsessed with this magazine's having written about her.

A good magazine
I was looking for a health/fitness magazine that was worried more about health and fitness and less worried about selling me s*** that I don't nessisarrily need. I like the arrivals and the advice. I enjoy the recipes and have tried a few yum. Is there some controversy over 1 magazine cover yes. Should that devalue the entire endeavor nope. If you are looking for style hair makeup try looking at shape or women's health. If you want a simple magazine that you will read with some substance this is it.I will add the only negative for me is the plug for lifetime fitness. Other then that solid readBeen reading for 2 years

Everything changes
I used to love this magazine. They reported on health; physical, emotional, spiritual. I felt inspired and motivated with each issue-until recently. Now there are politically leaning articles about the environment and what I SHOULD be doing for the world.

Informative Exercise-oriented Magazine
This magazine is full of well-written articles and graphics. Articles include philosophy and insights about healthy living. You'll see workout comparisons, tech gear recommendations, season activities, nutritional guidelines with recipes as well as personal stories and inspiration of both famous and regular-joe athletes. My favorite part is the personal Perspective article by Bahram Akradi inside the back page. He is the reason I purchased this magazine.

I LOVE this magazine
I LOVE this magazine. I give it as a gift to everyone I care about. They have all loved it too. It covers such a wide range of important topics. The articles are well written. I am a health care professional, and I sometimes read information here before I see it anywhere else in the lay literature. Simply a great magazine. I almost never throw them away, even though I can also access my subscription online.
