Builds a bridge between conventional medicine and fascia research.
David Lesondak’s enthusiasm for his subject matter and generous wish to share what he has learned with others makes this book a joy to read. I love it that a book about current fascia research begins with a quote from 1809. Such historical context suggests that everything we have learned so far about this essential fabric of our bodies is still the tip of an iceberg.Lesondak‘s voice is passionate yet humble and this makes for sentences that are both exciting and easy to understand. Clear, elegant illustrations make what is being described in the text come to life. Fascia is not just a pursuit of somatic professionals and manual therapists—all involved in spatial medicine understand it to be the future of medicine. Lesondak’s book helps establish a bridge between fascia research and conventional medicine.

An excellent book about fascia from my perspective as a provider and a patient.
David's depth of knowledge, ability to present the material in a readable and fascinating way, and his clinical experience treating fascia make this book a must read for any provider or patient who wants to better understand how and why the fascia is such an amazing and important part of the human body. His passion to treat patients with fascial problems is easily recognized, as is his insatiable curiosity about the history of medical knowledge and discovery over the centuries, which he documents with clarity and his own interesting and personable interpretations, making for an enjoyable read. Very comprehensive, including treatment and lots more. Loved it!

A must for exercise/fitness professionals
Wonderful resource for strength coaches, personal trainers, group exercise instructors, or anyone else interested in the dynamics of human movement. I’ve been looking for a concise, all-inclusive text on different aspects of fascia, and David does a wonderful job simplifying complex topics and almost weaves a narrative on a fascinating aspect of the human body.I plan on keeping this text with me during training sessions to help reinforce important points to athletes and personal training clients I work with. I also look forward to implementing the experiments in chapter 2 with them - these practical examples can help people understand just how integrated the body is.Like other reviewers, I had issues with the book’s binding. However, I contacted David and he graciously put me in contact with the publisher and they are sending me a replacement copy.Thank you David, for helping me learn about this incredibly important aspect of human integration.

The perfect book to help you understand Fascia and it's importance!
As a long term trainer of yoga teachers keeping up with the latest information in movement and body science, I've spent many hours collecting information about fascia that is clear and understandable and trying to present it. Finally, David Lesondak has written the perfect book so that I now have one resource for yoga teachers combining thoughtful, clear and well-illustrated information. The more we learn about human movement, lack of movement, persistent pain and body limitation the more movement practitioners need to know the how's and why's behind it all and this book delivers it. So much is linked to fascia and this book not only comes a perfect time but is also an enjoyable read that I cannot recommend enough. It's now on my required reading list for all my training students! Thank you David!

I feel smarter
Most books like this have me feeling dumb, but Lesondak is a better writer. He's able to take difficult biology and explain it in a way the layperson can understand. I'd still recommend taking notes as you read this. There's a lot of material covered here. This book covers our past and present understanding of fascia in the body, detailing how we managed to overlook it's usefulness until fairly recently. It even gives plenty of resources in near the end for further reading.

Relevant information. Wonderful!
The publisher replaced the book with faulty binding that Amazon sent me (twice), so, I will change the rating from 3 to 5 Stars! Much gratitude to Handspring Publishing.Lesondak has written a book with clear, interesting and educational information informing a deeper understanding of fascia.... without the need to become a cell biologist! I am finding it easy to read and it holds my attention.I would encourage anyone wanting to learn or deepen their understanding of fascia to read this book!is easy to read, and understand. The first book I ordered did the same thing, and I thought it was just that book, but this one is doing it too.

Comprehensive and Easy to Understand!
I have been a massage therapist for somewhere around 11 years, specializing in Myofascial Release for the last 10. This book was a great refresher for the things I already knew and also contained deeper explanations and backgrounds for things that I didn't! I assume I will read and re-read many more times. I like that each chapter stands alone but also blends into the next to create a nice flow, and I LOVE that it is inclusive of many kinds of fascial therapy and draws knowledge and input from many different areas. Scientific and spiritual all at once.

A go to text for anyone hoping to understand what we are learning about Fascia!
I bought this book well in advance of it's publishing with great anticipation. So happy to finally get it and start digging in! Wow. There is so much fresh science and detailed understanding of what we know so far about the facial system. No other text I've read matches the readability of this one. David has an exceptional way of imparting his knowledge of the subject and yet he is still very much a student of the topic and anxious to learn more. I will keep this close at hand as a critical reference in my manual therapy practice....it has changed the way I treat my clients and how I try to explain to them their "garden variety"aches and pains. I expect there will be a 2nd edition before too long and I will be signed up for it! Great work, David!
