WAHL 8173-700 Professional 5 Star Vanish Shaver for Professional Hairdressers and Stylists- 8173-700 Gold

This is my first foil shaver & I'm officially a convert! For the last few years I've been shaving my head with a razor & whilst it got the job done, it would take over an hour which put me off doing it frequently & therefore it'd grow too long to use a razor and I'd look scruffy. This gives sharp lines & a buttery smooth finish every time with minimal effort! Even with a mohawk I can get sharp clean lines in seconds due to the nature of a foil shaver. If you care about your appearance & are tight for time, I highly recommend this product & if the price puts you off (like it did me initially), trust me when I say it's a massive quality of life increase & worth every penny!

I have used various electric shavers for over fifty years and this is the best I have ever used. It both cuts remarkably close and does a very good job catching those difficult hairs on your neck. On the downside it claims that the battery life is one hundred minutes. I have now charged it fully three times and I cannot get more than sixty-five minutes from a single charge. Once you know this it is not a problem but remember to take the charging cable with you when you book any holiday of a week or longer. Noise level: From a distance of eighteen inches, in a room with ambient background noise of around 30db the Wahl Vanish produces around 75db when fully charged. This could be considered a little noisy. However, when the battery level is low the noise level is as low as 61-62db. This is very quiet for a foil shaver.

Came with a wrong charger - contacted WAHL who asked me to send them the invoice and pictures, they said: Thank you for your response. I'm afraid have a few concerns after looking at the images you have sent: • The invoice shows a product number that does not exist (8173-700), which raises concerns about the seller • The charger you have been supplied is for a basic trimmer, which could not have possibly been in the box when it left the factory as these chargers are produced in another country - this raises concerns that this is a returned product that has been resold and a random charger was put in the box • The fading on the bottom also makes this look like a used product

This razor is brilliant. 99 percent as good as a wet shave. I shave my head and face - very effective

Incredible product. Didn't want to review straight away, to get a better look at it first. Got it after looking at multiple reviews on YouTube where got the impression that this was an upgrade of what I already had. It is. Love the battery since runs for months on a single charge! It is very robust by design, easy to clean and shaves very well. There might be upgrades to even better but might? This shaves like I want. Reviewed by people who use in barbers as in where they do high volume and want something that does the job. Again and again and again! Delighted with my purchase 👍

Crazy razor burn. Even without pushing or forcing things. Leaves a lot of thic beard hairs randomly scattered. You have to do the same area multiple times so the razor burn gets even worse. Maybe better for regular hair, not beard

Comfortable and most effective. This is my 2nd Wahl shaver. I use it for beard shaving only and I am a regular shaver. A little practice and it will give a clean shave more than Gillet 5 blade which I was using since decade. The only down side is under chin which requires a little more effort. You can ask Gemini or download from Google regarding tips and tricks of using Wahl professional 5 star shaver and get idea to use the shaver effectively. Regarding battery 5 days of 10 minutes use has consume one bar out of 3 which I think can last for 12 to 15 days on a single charge which is more than sufficient. During my search the other online stores showing higher prices but only Amazon made it to a reasonable price band. It is definitely an original product. Amazon is doing great. Definitely this is an investment with the price. But one should carefully use and maintain regularly as the the foils are thin.

It gives the same result of using glade but without causing skin irritation. I use it daily!
