UPDATE March 27, 2026: This is the end of the trash can. The motor has finally given out, replaced the batteries and the lid just does not lift all the way. I took the screws out and inspected the motor. Such a simple motor, the fact it lasted almost 3 years of use in a very active bathroom, adults and kids. It is time to replace. We have been very happy with this can. A little problematic getting the bag to sit when we first bought, but as my original write up, this wasn't rocket science. We had success with the use and ease in replacing bags and keeping this running, and the battery use, 2 AA, has been limited, I think we've only replaced batteries twice, I can think of, in the last 3 years, maybe around once a year. And now, 3 years since the original purchase, it is time to replace, the motor is skipping, wear and tear of time. We will buy another one of these, the price is good, and hope the next lasts 3 years again. PURCHASED June 15, 2023: We don't throw away a lot of trash in the bathroom, but we do go through some sanitary products that work best in hands free environment, with the use of scented bags. Skeptical of the reviews of product, I took a chance and bought one. Not the easiest design to put together, but not rocket science either. 3 piece design, the trash can, the edge frame for the bag, and the motion sensor with lid top. The edge frame is an interesting idea, but its not quick replacement, pull bag and off you go. The edge of the bag goes around this, and any excess bag at the edge fits through a hole at one end to tighten the bag in place around the edge. This now sits into the basket, and the motion sensor with lid fit right over this, essentially hiding this edge frame, you never realize its there holding the bag in place as you look at it. Works, but not quick and easy. The sensor is hands free, but likes to play as you take it apart to replace the bag. As we have this between the toilet and the shower, this will sometimes open if we swing our arms too wide around the toilet, or if the towel hanging from the shower door swings over the can. However, this has proved very useful otherwise, and rather efficient. 2 months in use and the same set of batteries, we are not experiencing some of the issues other buyers seem to have. Overall, we are very happy with this product and would buy another.

Ok so it’s a pretty cool automatic bin not much to really say here but the trash capacity leaves much to be desired even for a bathroom bin, the noise level isn’t bad pretty minimal, dog protection? Forget it if he sniffs too close it activates and the motion sensor really is just a sensor hacked together to detect any kind of motion if a leaf blows infront of its all open up. Do with that as you will but the point is the sensor is a bit trigger happy than it is smart. Lastly the main drawback is the closing hinge is actually problematic and has difficulty closing even though f the bin is a fraction full, sometimes it fails and stays open and you have to manually reset it. Other time it continuously opens for no apparent reason. As for looks it’s rather sleek with the black finish so points for that.

Works great but goes through batteries quickly

I ordered for my bathroom but found it so useful for bedroom as well. I was doubtful how much AA batteries could last. But the cheaper dollar store ones last for a couple months. Sometimes it does open while passing close-by but corner placement reduced it significantly.

Good and compact. Had initial issues with the sensor.. but once set working perfectly well.
