In theory this is a good product. It's sleek. We used it the first time and the top pole flew right out of the stick. It wasn't fixable. Don't waste your money on this.

I bought the most expensive version. It broke after a month of pretty light use. I emailed several times to ask for a replacement part so I could fix it. No one ever responded to me.

Have used it a few times. Feels well made and easy to work with. A friend managed to pull it apart by accident. It was easy enough to put back together but if lose the internal locking parts you might have an issue. Light weight and compact.

Watch out for this product! it has a loop on the back side that we used for carrying up a route. it will untwist with no warning and fall to the ground endangering anyone bellow the climber if they use it this way!

I don't rock climb, I forage wild mushrooms. Unfortunately, two of my favorite edible mushrooms (lion's mane & oysters) often grow way up in trees. I don't want to cut a long branch just to get the mushroom, so normally I just grumble and continue the hunt hoping that more mushrooms will be found lower down. But when I saw this pole I realized it'd be perfect! The pole is carbon fiber and so very light weight and easy to carry. When collapsed, it's just under two feet long which allows it to be stashed in my backpack. The carbon fiber drops the weight down to 18oz. The seller claims that when extended it's 500cm long which is equal to just over 16 feet, but when I actually measure it, it was 8' 6". However, that's still long enough to be useful for a professional mushroom hunter. Overall quality seems good. The individual pieces lock into place tightly and the rubber rings that do it have a nice grip to them. The silver metal tip is removable so I can replace it with a knife blade mounted on a wooden dowel. Now I just need some rain to bring the mushrooms!

Product states in the photo that it extends to 500cm but it shows directly on its packaging that it extends to 250cm which I confirmed when measuring it myself. The only reason I purchased this version over the $56 one was the double length. They are the same length just different material and weight. Otherwise it’s a super nice solid product if it weren’t for the deception.
