I'd say that this set of hex/allen bits is geared to the mechanically minded given the range of sizes. I dont really do much in the way of mechanic-ing so its the smaller sizes I have been using with any frequency, although I have sought out bolts to test the larger sizes on. I'm happy to report that so far all the sizes I've tried have fitted the bolt very well. I've used both a ratchet and impact driver without any issues so its all good there.I have some much higher end socket sets and while this one is not comparable to them, they are very decent quality, especially for the money. The black coating is very uniform and while they are not stamped with the size, it is printed on to the body - not a huge deal but a bit of regular use will probably rub off the printing. The case is one of the blow moulded affairs which I am no fan of; its not the most robust one I have seen and the hinge is just a plastic strip rather than an actual hinge - I expect the case will give up long before the bits will.All in all this is a very decent bit set, definitely not for the professional but for the likes of myself its ideal for occasional use.

This set of hex or Allen bits in 1/2" square drive format comprises a run of metric sizes from 5mm to 19mm (there is no 11mm or 13mm socket, for some reason). The sockets are of a uniform length, and are nicely machined and finished in a black oxide(?) coating. They are also oiled, to prevent corrosion. They are made from chrome-molybdenum alloy steel rather than chrome-vanadium, but either would have been suitable, and there is very little difference in practice. These are good-quality impact sockets, and should stand up to severe use, though I don't think these are intended as professional tools. I haven't managed to break one.The plastic case is a different matter. Although a typical moulded case that does a good job of organising and protecting the sockets in the garage, it is not of very high quality, and mine arrived already cracked. It has articulated latches at the front, but the hinge is not a proper one, to my mind, and the cheap bendy plastic will break sooner or later.But the sockets are the important thing, and for occasional use by enthusiasts, this set, at £25.99, looks to be a sensible compromise.
