Nice sturdy case. Very well made and very sharp. Great addition to my carving tools

Although I'm an avid woodworker and always doing something around the house I rarely need Forstner bits for the projects I get into. But when you need one, you need one, it's as simple as that. I wouldn't call these bits precision or high quality, but the ones that I've tried out do poke holes in the wood (only tried pine so far) and the cuts are pretty clean, no complaints. I have no idea how long they will hold their edge, but I doubt I'll be using them too often so I'm not too concerned about that. If I used Forstner bits often I'd bite the bullet and buy a set of Freud bits.

This is going to be fine for me, it’s a light use item.

Using theses bits to bore 0.50 hdpe. Working great so far.

I find that Forstner Bits are the right tool for many woodworking jobs and I love using them. This set is very comprehensive. It includes more sizes than any set I have ever had. Plus, they are all nicely organized and protected by a blow molded plastic case. The case is good quality and it holds the bits firmly. In fact, so firmly that you need to be careful when you are removing them as the bits are very sharp. The case also shows the diameter of each bit for easy reference. This is very handy when you are on the job. Curiously, the case has a clear plastic window on top. That is nice so you now what is inside, but these bits will just end-up scarring the plastic. I will be leaving the protective foam in place. The bits themselves are very well-built and crafted nicely. They cut clean and the tip provides a good centering point that does not travel. The shafts are round and smooth, it would have been better if they were hex or had a groove to minimize slippage in the drill chuck. Overall, this is a high quality set of Forstner Bits and a good value.

About a decade ago I bought an imported forstner bit set from Germany which yielded excellent results. For some reason I misplaced that set and couldn't find them for a while. Wow did I miss them. This is the pre-eminent way to create a flat-bottomed hole with a superbly clean edge on the top of the cut. The little dimple in the center allows you to keep the bit centered, and also makes for a really nice way to give your secondary drill bit a pilot to drill through for an attaching screw. When making wooden dowel plugs with a plug cutter the forstners are ideal due to that clean edge.The set comes in a blow molded case with a snug fit for each one of the bits. It arrives with a foam liner along the top to prevent the bits from getting loose. Some prefer to remove the foam thereby utilizing the clear plastic shield on the top lid of the case giving you can exposure to the contents without even opening the lid. They are in a nice snug fit in the case so you don't have to be concerned about them rolling around. All in all, a nice set, at a handsome price.
