Great Laptop
I have only had this laptop for about a week. Great deal on Cyber Monday. This is the Special addition with a white top covered by glass. It's a clean look, but the white top takes some getting use to. I wanted a laptop for productivity mainly (hobbyist photo/video editor). The battery is average (3-4 hours) when settings are at highest performance, connected to WiFi, multitasking... etc. when not plugged in.The battery life is amazing at 7+ hours when not connected to the internet, on recommended settings, screen brightness 2 clicks down while performing editing functions. At these settings the laptop still performs flawlessly when it comes to productivity. The screen is brightness is average, but I'm going to be using it while traveling on dimly lit flights and car rides. The matte finish does a nice job reducing reflections pretty well.Gaming - it works. The MX150 dedicated graphics works well for editing (more taxing on CPU) while allowing for some gaming. I didn't buy it for gaming, but will do some light gaming on it. It will play newer titles at low settings at a frame rate where you can enjoy the game (Sims 4, Battlefield, Fortnite... etc.). Lesser taxing games will run smoothly at higher settings (Steam games, older games). All in all, if you're someone like me who enjoys the occasional game, but focuses on creating content as a hobbyist , this laptop is great! If you're a professional video editor, you may want to look at a 16 gb version. But if you're like me who wants a personal computer that can do everything, future proof for 3-4 years and enjoys editing with some light gaming. This computer will suite you well!

Not a great laptop
We bought this for Christmas 2018. We have had nothing but trouble with it since. Either we got a dud product or this is just not a great laptop. It is very unpredictable whether it will turn on or not. We have called customer support 3-4 times to figure out the issues of why the screen will not turn on. The batter is always fully charged but we are constantly having to reset the battery by pressing the stupid reset key on the under side. Even then it sometimes will not turn on. We even got very vague and confusing instructions to send it back and get a new one, but the instructions were so confusing that we did not trust that if we sent this back that we would actually be sent a new laptop. Buyer beware!!!!

Best computer I have ever owned
Less than a year ago, I purchased an ASUS laptop that has been the worst computer I have ever owned. It was impossibly slow to the point where it was unusable when opening programs and particularly when wanting more than one program open a time. I did my research and was impressed by all of the great reviews on the Swift 3 Acer laptop. This is the fasted computer I could ever imagine. With the Intel 7 chip and the solid state hard drive, it takes about a second to open any program, no matter how many other programs are open. I also really like that lighted keyboard, the size and the weight. Additionally, I love the NVIDIA graphic card that allows me to play all but the most graphic-intensive games. All of this for a amazing price (which I improved on having bought it on Cyber Monday sale). I could not be happier with this computer!

Fast, long battery life, but not durable and support is awful
The case is made of glass... yes the case is made of glass. I broke it within two weeks of buying it. Acer indicated it would cost $500 USD to repair. BUT they offered a discount to 400 USD. Needless to say I can't/will not be paying that. I understand that I broke it, so I'm willing to pay a repair cost, but 400-500 USD is absurd. Otherwise I've really liked this laptop especially after switching from a Mac, but I certainly will not be buying another Acer and would not recommend that others do due to the poor material choice making it easy to cause aesthetic damage.

Great Laptop, especially if on sale.
It's frame is built sturdy, if a little course around the edges, it is a powerful work machine capable of moderate gaming, the screen is decent quality, however the battery is definitely lacking.Even with practically no intensive software running it will die in less than 5 hours (half the advertised time). In addition, the function key is slightly harder to press than the others which is surprising since the rest is so well built.A very good, decently powerful work computer. I feel there are better choices for the normal $900, but if you can get it on sale for 100 - 200 cheaper then it is definitely worth it.

graphics card broken, warranty expired before purchase.
It's ok for watching movies, but after Skyrim wouldn't play I looked and noticed that the intel graphics card wasn't working. Updates and talking with Intel didn't work, so I'm currently talking with Acer to see if they'll fix it, which is iffy. I should have just bought a decent computer instead.Update: Acer has informed me that the warranty expired before I purchased it. With an inoperable graphics card, it is most definitely not "like new" as advertised, and I completely regret purchasing it.

Great gaming computer
Perfect gaming computer for my son. It is fast, with clear images and no lag. It also is very pretty, white finish.
