Great quality, easy to use!
A great little lighted scope with its own display so you dont have to attach it to your phone. Great quality screen and detailed images. If you have problem ears this might be for you. Cost less than a doctor visit.

This one is worth the money
I don't usually write reviews, but I think it is imporant to let people know that this digital otoscope really works, and continues to work with a beautifully clear picture. I purchased a cheaper brand a few months ago. It was amazing the first time I tried it. The second time I turned it on, the picture was fuzzy, and the third time, no picture at all. All within the space of two weeks. I still needed an otoscope, so I decided to try this one. It has a great picture, and it's own hand-held screen device so you don't have to use your cell phone and try to download software to make it work. And most important it works! The first time, the second time, the tenth time, and the last time I used it yesterday. I still get a beautiful image (if you can count the inside of someone's ear beautiful) that has not decreased in clarity from the first time I used it. I waited four months to write this review because I wanted to see if this otoscope died prematurely. I have now used it enough to feel certain that it will continue to work for a good long time. For yourself or for someone you care for, this is easy to use, the battery charge lasts almost forever, and the picture quality is great. And it turns out, it's actually kind of fun to look inside everybody's ears! Bottom line: if you need a digital otoscope, or you just want to stalk people and look inside their ears, (trust me, it's kind of addicting) then this is the one to buy.

The local Drs were super impressed
The scope is awesome, not perfect but still awesome. First the good. The quality is quite amazing. The photo is from my phone off the screen. But the screen is even more clear, clearer than I would have imagined. There are 3 black tips like you'd expect to have that you put on the camera tip. This allows you to pretty much just shove that bad boy in to at least an adult ear with zero fear of going too far. As far as it goes in my ear at least was the perfect spot for checking out the eardrum or the blockage. In my case some cotton from qtips I guess. There are also some surgical type tips that you can use to scrape or pull out obstructions. These are great I was just unable to be successful with them because mine required a Dr and special water flush. But I could see how it would be easy to be successful with other stuff. The battery seems to last forever as I was using it for over an hour and battery never hit halfway. The light is super bright and the camera adjusts well. Just be sure to not point the light too much at the sidewalk or the canal will be too dark. There is quite a lot of finesse to the thing especially when you have such a sore ear! The greatest part was when I went to the Dr and showed them the scope with the photos. They were super impressed. Invited a couple other nurses and Drs in to see for themselves. They were most impressed with the quality and ease of use. I could I overhear one explaining all the features to another in the hallway, "it's got a separate screen from the camera so everyone can see...". Lol. Didn't think I would be impressing any Drs with my Amazon purchase lol. As I was filling out my insurance work on my phone waiting for the Dr after the nurse part, I just had the camera shoved in my ear and the screen on the table so when the Dr came in I could show them right away. Yup, just a patient sitting there on their phone with a cord coming out their ear, promise this wasn't what I got stuck in there and why I was there in the first place! Hahaha. Now the bad. The camera wasn't perfectly up and down with the handheld flat edges on the side. Almost. But it was enough to cause some extra difficulty. I assume each could be slightly different. It's hard enough knowing which way to move your fingers and probe by looking at the screen, a little like doing a maze through a mirror. But this is no fault of the camera. If someone else was doing it, it would be way easier because the operator can orient the camera or screen easily to be inline with one another. That's it though, the bad is just a slight few degree rotation of the camera to the "grip". The only other issue maybe would be the tools to scrape require the black cone tip to be removed. This can cause irritation if not handled carefully and allow you to go too far too easily. Just move slow and make sure you can see what you are doing and feel free to take lots of photos. Cheers, happy exploring!

Pretty good
Very cool instrument! Easy to use and extremely helpful I wanted a crystal clear sharp detailed picture so the nuance of the ear drum could be seen and evaluated. This instrument did not provide that. Price point was excellent, but I would be willing to pay more for better quality picture AND a more flexible tip to negotiate the ear canal. The standard hard rigid cones used on old fashioned otoscopes were included and used on this instrument thus negating the fiber optic FLEX!!! Such a simple fix! The brightness was also excellent All in all a strong B+

This Has Been Invaluable
We purchased this due to some symptoms my wife was having in her ear, feeling like she had "water" in her ear. We had been trying for several days to use earwax softener/irrigation, thinking perhaps she had an earwax blockage in her ear, however didn't have success removing anything. So we went ahead and ordered this otoscope, thinking what have we got to lose? Once it arrived, we used it and immediately confirmed the presence of a very large, hard, and adherent globule of earwax. It took a few days to get it out, but thankfully, this scope helped us to see which areas of the blockage were breaking down, which subsequently aided us in directing the irrigation stream to facilitate adequate flow to remove the earwax. After we finally got it all out, we were able to confirm it was all removed, and additionally, that my wife actually had a perforated eardrum due to a nasty inner ear/sinus infection that had been plaguing her for weeks. With the images we got, we were able to upload and share them with our Doctor on Demand video session, and she subsequently got the diagnosis confirmation AND meds she needed. Overall, this unit seems to be well-made and solid. We have had no technical issues, with one exception: we couldn't get the probe to register on the device when we first got it. We finally realized (thanks to a suggestion on these reviews), that we were plugging the probe into the charging port rather than the designated probe port. Here is a hint: the probe port is on the same side as the locking button.). The user interface could maybe use some inprovement, as it doesn't seem very intuitive to access all of the features, but that is not a deal breaker, as it has more features than what we expected. The picture quality is surprisingly crisp. I work in surgery, and am use to handling endoscopes of all types for various procedures, so I feel quite qualified in my statement that the image quality of this little otoscope is completely acceptable. Overall, we are very happy with our "investment" (yes, it may be a tad more pricey than some others), and wholly recommend it!

Life saver
This product has been a life saver for me. In recent years my ears have suffered greatly, hairs become lodged in the canal, I had a major fungal infection, I get frequent clogged wax and with the help of this camera I'm able to determine the course of action. Many times I take the photos to my doctors and they're amazed by the quality of the images and always ask what the product is. Safety first; I don't poke around my ear with the tips, I simply use it to view the inner ear. The tip can become quite hot if you leave it on for too long but for the most part I turn it on, view the canal for a few seconds and turn it off between uses just to avoid overheating. Highly recommend if you have frequent ear issues.

Wonderful way to get pictures of your ears!
After multiple visits to the doctor, my wife still had an ear that was hurting. We decided to spend the money and find out what was going on. Before getting the camera, we thought her ear was plugged -- as the doctor gave us prescription ear drops and ear cleaner. After getting the camera, we were amazed at how clear the ear was of any wax, and were equally amazed at the infection she had going on. We followed up with an ENT and showed him the pictures that we took. He was extremely impressed and knew the problem instantly. It was a chronic condition that required additional help. We are able to view the progress of her treatment and we are happy to report things are getting better. After getting the camera, we had an ear checking party. Everybody their ears checked. I checked mine and found both ears with big plugs of wax. Using the included attachments, I was able to successfully remove both plugs. I didn't include images or videos because it was gross. But it saved a trip to the doctor. Do this at your own risk! The camera made the process fairly easy to do though. I could see where the tool was at all times and I was able to quickly pull all the wax out. Awesome!! We actually have a really good doctor, but we have always found that doing research and passing it along, helps the doctor out. We are super excited to have diagnosis tools available to us, where we can share the information with the doctor. I would highly recommend anyone buy this unit. A couple of caveats. Don't use it without the ear protector. This is not worth a ruptured eardrum. It would be very easy to cause bad damage to your ear if you don't take the required precautions. Additionally, sterilize the tip after each use. Don't spread germs. It is more difficult to check little kids' ears. It is manageable but you won't be able to get as good of pictures. Again, I would recommend it. You will be the life of a party when you whip this thing out.

It does what it says on the box
The product is fine - works well and is easy to operate. The only minus point is the length of the camera cord and the lack of instructions.
