Clear, easy to read instruction. A fabulous variety of songs to learn. Although it is a perfect accompaniment to the online lessons created by the author, Justin Sandercoe, it can be used as a stand-alone teaching aid​. Justin really is the best guitar teacher for those who prefer the self-teaching method. I am having a wonderful time using his lessons to learn. I have learned to play a simple 3 chord melody in just over a week.

After watching a fair few videos of Justin on his site and youtube. I found his teaching methods easy to understand and helped me alot so decided to buy the book and is just as easy to understand as the videos and has a good variety of songs in it with notes and fact of the songs too!!.. ranging from begininers stuff to advance players Awsome Book :)

Very well put together

At first glance I thought this was too advanced for my beginner daughter and she didn't recognise a lot of the songs. But as we went through it and listened to a lot of them on spotify she knew more of them than she thought. The fact that the author does YouTube tutorials on keys and strumming (which is why I purchased it) has been brilliant. Her school tuition has stopped because of Covid so she's been practicing and learning the cords from Justins videos. She says he makes it really clear. Great range of songs, organised in levels. Highly recommend it.

Great book, ideal for beginners and intermediate players. Whole range of songs from multiple genres. Filled with classic songs to get you motivated and playing.

This book is just what a beginner needs in order to progress. The format is straightforward but effective. Justin has good insight into the minds, requirements, and limitations of beginners. This book is even better when read in conjunction with his 'Justinguitar' website.

Positives? There are a lot of well known songs here. Negative? This book does not have sheet music, or TAB for any of the songs , just the lyrics with letters indicting which cords to play floating over them. And only usually over the first verse and chorus. I imagine you could write in the cords over the other verses (they do repeat in most songs after all). You could write your own TAB using the cords, , or draw lines in to indicate the measures . This is a book of guitar exercises based around simplified popular songs, rather than the actual music for the songs. If that’s what your after I suppose tho book may be for you.

Positives: I bought this book to help me teach my son guitar. It is ideal for the beginner. It gives the new student basic songs combined with some underlying music understanding so they experience success right away, which encourages them to practice. By the end of the book, they will be playing some complicated songs and have good command of the musical knowledge underlying it. Bear in mind, this is not a "music theory" book - this is "practical guitar" with a little bit of theory. For the experienced player - or self taught hack like me, there are plenty of songs in here to increase your play list and you'll have a great time doing it. Everything from Elvis, to Bob Marley, to Britney Spears. Justin did a great job putting together a portfolio of songs that any musician is going to enjoy playing. I highly recommend this book. Negatives: The only negative I give this book is the binding. It should be coil bound so it will lay flat for easy use while playing!

Great book

Justin’s books are always well formatted. Like that most songs have different levels which makes it great for beginners . They pair really well with instructional videos and beginner course. It is a beginner course but their is lots of challenging progressions . The second book a little more advanced than first as you go threw stages. I like the fact that once you master a song you can come back to it later an add more complexity using different strum patterns. Excellent value. Justin is very personal on videos and certainly seems that he enjoys teaching music and puts in a lot of time into the books .

Zunächst muss bemerkt werden, dass gute Englischkenntnisse, ein Internetanschluss und ein multimediatauglicher PC, Tablet oder Smartphone unabdingbar sind, wenn man Justin Sandercore als virtuellen Coach haben will. Sowohl Buch, wie auch die kostenlosen Tutorialvideos auf Youtube sind ausschließlich in Englisch. Und die YT-Videos sind der eigentliche Clou, Mr. Sandercore hat es verdient ein Star auf YT zu sein und wird von vielen völlig zu Recht als einflußreichsten Gitarrenlehrer der Welt angesehen. Außerdem beantwortet er tatsächlich auch Fragen zu seinen Videos, natürlich sollte man das nicht übertreiben... Justin Sandercore ist Australier und spricht ein sehr kultiviertes Englisch, Schulkenntnisse reichen für den Anfang aus, man sollte aber schon die Grundlagen der Musikterminologie im Englischen drauf haben und wissen dass die deutsche Note "H" im englischen Sprachraum ein "B" ist und das deutsche "B" ein "Bb". Sich parallel mit den Grundlagen der Musiktheorie zu beschäftigen und zu wissen was "minor" und "major" ist. Sein Kollege Sean Daniel, auch auf YT ist dazu eine geniale Ergänzung. Ich habe manchmal fast das Gefühl, ich sollte eigentlich fairerweise den Beiden das Geld für den Gitarrenuntericht überweisen und nicht meinem Lehrer. Eines muss jedem klar sein, das auch Justin Sandercore ohne die allerbeste Gitarrenlernapp nicht zum Erfolg führt: "Practice!". Wer das jetzt im App-/Playstore nachschaut oder googelt, was die kostet, der sollte es besser ausschließlich bei einem Lehrer belassen...und wer also glaubt, er kauft sich eine Gitarre und das Heft, schlägt das Heft auf und singt uns spielt damit drauf los, der sollte sich das mit dem neuen Hobby nochmal überlegen. Von "Three little Birds" von Bob Marley über Mitsingbrüller wie "Yellow" von Coldplay bis hin zu solchen Schätzchen wie "Wildwood" von Paul Weller u.v.a. ist so einiges dabei. Vieles dürften die meisten nicht auf Anhieb kennen, Mr. Sandercore's Musikgeschmack ist aber wirklich gut. Es lohnt sich die Originale erstmal anzuhören und erst zu entscheiden, was man lernen möchte. Außerdem hilft es die Stücke ins Ohr zu bekommen, weil Melodienoten sind keine angegeben, nur der Text, d.h. den Gesang muss man selbst raushören. Zudem ist die Notation vergleichbar mit Umsonst-Apps, also nur Akkordbezeichnungen, auch daran muss man sich erst gewöhnen.

Excelente libro con recopilación de canciones para principiantes. Fáciles y más difíciles. Se lo reconcomio a cualquier persona que empiece a aprender guitara como complemento al curso (...)
