Cute plush for beginner/newer crocheters
This was my first ever crochet item. From a beginner’s view, it was a little daunting at first. However, the paper guide illustrated the different crochet stitches well, and the video instructions for each step really helped me to understand what to do. Plus you can use them again to make the same item with your own materials. I will say that the yarn wasn’t super easy to work with once decreasing stitches were required as it would come slightly apart or get stuck partway through a stitch. The yarn doesn’t make for a super soft plush, but it is very hardy and seems like it will hold up for a long time. I had an excess of yarn at the end of making the plush, and my kit also came with 2 different ribbons for gift wrapping. Making the boba kit plush is making me consider looking at getting more of these kits to try out.

8 year old loved it.
A little tricky for an 8 year old, be prepared to help but overall she loved it.

These crochet kits are really good quality, but not recommended for complete beginners
The instructions only tell you what to do, but they don’t really TEACH you.

Boba Crochet Fun
The kit is fun but the videos are a little difficult to understand what they are saying because it sounds like a robot. My son had a hard time trying to listen to the videos.Once we figured it out though, it motivated my son to practice & he’s had a lot of fun. Would recommend if you have the time to help your kid or if you’re an adult you should have no problem following along.

Mushroom Axolotl, What Will They Think of Next?!
This kit pays a lot of attention to detail. I mean, even the yarn has cute labels on it! The white and pink skeins had the first round pre-crocheted for you. I’ve never seen that before. The “yarn” is the knitted kind…It’s a machine knitted rope, so it won’t come apart until it rips or something. That means you can undo and redo things as much as you want. This is great for a beginner. The teaching materials were the best of the three sets I’ve tried. I liked the way this company teaches you how to do the “magic ring” the best. It’s easy to remember and works every time. I think the videos are broken up a bit too much, but then again, if you need to watch a part over again, the fact that they are short really helps. I guess it’s a double-edge sword? They also mark key stitches in the video, which really helps….but the automated voice is a bit jarring/grating… The booklet also explains the stitches with illustrations so if you can’t figure it out one way, there’s something to fall back on :)The leaf was the hardest part and I had to watch the videos over and over because I didn’t know how to do the HDC and the counting/numbered stitches was confusing for someone who only learned to count stitches a month or so ago (you really have to pay attention to if it is the “foundation” that you need to count from or the from “hook.” I didn’t realize they were two different things at first and I wasn’t always sure which one so I had to attempt it twice.). They have a handy diagram on the video, but I still got confused (so this is totally on me).The scissors don’t work with the tape yarn. You have to really pull to get it to work. They work fine on regular yarn and really cool, though. I loved how they included the backs of the eyes instead of a glue stick (not everyone has a glue gun or wants glue on their plushie).I’m not sure what the “sample plush” is for. It’s cute though. Maybe it’s so the crocheted one isn’t lonely. I got it because it made me really curious. I think the crocheted one is cuter, By TheWay.What I Did Different: I stuffed the head after sewing everything onto it. I think it’s easier. I gave my axolotl eyelashes and a different mouth. Instead of four stitches to hold the “shell” together, I did eight. Four didn’t seem very stable.I really liked this set! I think it’d be great for someone who has never crocheted and even a beginner who has done a few of these. Everything is so cute and professional looking that I’d recommend it as a gift, too.Tips:* If you are having trouble, click the “Watch on YouTube” button, then click on the white gear on the bottom right in the video. Then click “Playback Speed” and set it to .5 or slower. It makes it easier to figure some parts out :)* Also, if you stick a sticky note next to the crochet instruction tables, you can check off each row when you’re done and it makes things a lot easier (especially if you don’t have time to do it all in one or two sessions) :)

Box was obviously opened previously.
On receiving my package, it was obvious that this was a return that someone sent back. The box was ripped open on the side and patched with cheap tape. Charging full price for someone else's garbage is unacceptable and now I have no way of knowing if all of the supplies inside are even there.
