Are these solid rods? i.e. Could I cut the ends off and re-drill and re-tap them for 1/4-20?

Hi, Thank you for interesting in SmallRig. Please kindly note that the 1054 isn't solid rods. And you couldn't cute the ends off and re-drill and re-tap them for 1/4-20. Sincerely, SmallRig Customer Service

I wonder if one of these rods can hold a speedlite and a soft box as extension on a tripod? Thanks

It will all depend on the total weight. But it should, they are very strong.

How deep are the threads at the ends of the rods?

Hi, Thank you for interesting in SmallRig. The threads deep at the ends of the rods is about 30mm. Sincerely, SmallRig Customer Service
