I ordered Sueโs book after stumbling on her Facebook page shortly after I was diagnosed with cirrhosis. My cirrhosis is due to NAFLD, I donโt drink alcohol but my diet was full of sweets and junk food and I did not exercise. I was not extremely obese but was at an unhealthy weight. I had become aware that my healing was up to me (and God!), it was time to take steps to get healthy. I was a little shocked by my diagnosis as my liver enzymes were normal for the first time in many years. But my platelets were dropping which I did not know was a telltale sign of cirrhosis for anyone with a history of NAFLD. My dad died from ESLD so I knew what complications of this disease could lead to and I donโt want to go there! Sueโs book offered hope that I could take steps to turn this disease around. She explains what test results mean in laymanโs terms and gives insight on what to expect from your physician. She offers suggestions on diet modifications and tells what worked for her. Itโs an easy read where Sue tells the story of her journey with honesty and emotion as she did what many doctors say is impossible and reversed her cirrhosis! It is truly written from her heart with a desire to help others achieve the same. I just had my first 6 month follow up with my liver specialist where my Fibroscan CAP score dropped from 269 to 100 and my kPa dropped from 20.8 to 12.8. I have lost 59 pounds and am now at a healthy weight. Iโm exercising every day. I honestly believe I would not have made the necessary life style changes to be able to accomplished this if I had not read โReversing Cirrhosisโ by Susan Pryde. I highly recommend reading this book to anyone with cirrhosis. Review: So, very helpful! - Best book ever for people recently diagnosed with cirrhosis! Hopeful, focused, medically backed and spiritually lifting! So far, my go to! Thank you, Susan!!!โค๏ธ

Hope and Healing, One Step at a Time
I met Susan through Weight Watchers, and as I read Reversing Cirrhosis, I was deeply moved not only by her courage, but by the many parallels I saw between her story and my own. Susan writes with honesty about the losses, struggles, and choices that shaped her life... including the loss of her father as a child, her battle with weight, and the way pain can sometimes lead us into patterns of overindulgence, alcohol, and self-neglect. But what makes this book so powerful is that Susan does not leave the reader in despair. She shows, through her own life, that change is possible. Her diagnosis could have been the end of hope, but instead it became a turning point. Susan chose to take ownership of her health, learn everything she could, and make the daily changes that helped her reclaim her life. That kind of transformation takes courage, humility, and perseverance. This book is more than a guide about Susan's health challeneges. It is a story of resilience, healing, and the possibility of beginning again. Each of us has the ability to choose healing, one brave step at a time. I highly recommend this book.

I highly recommend this book by Sue Pryde. A truly inspiring account of Sueโs journey to heal her liver. It provides knowledge on questions to ask the doctor, information on test results and examples of a healthy diet. The hope and motivation I received from this book was extraordinary. Helped in understanding Cirrhosis/Nash and Sueโs journey back to health
I couldnโt stop reading as I learned more about both the disease and my friends journey. This is a story about hope, inspiration, and slaying those dragons we all face that keep us from being our best. Sue shares the technical aspect about this disease in a way that helps me understand even more, and her journey pulls me in for the ride. I read this book to help me better understand this disease, inspire me to understand and slay my own dragons, and to experience Sueโs Journey through her own heart. Sue bears all and It is clearer to me now that we all have dragons that keep us from being our best. Sue you have always been fun, creative, caring, and inspiring to me since the day we met. Love you My Friend and than you For inspiring us all, giving us hope and creating avenues for you to help others.

Not a realistic picture
This book should really be titled how to reverse BEGINNING cirrhosis. The author was fortunate enough to have caught hers right when it tipped into cirrhosis without any of the more middle to advanced symptoms such as portal vein hypertension, varices, jaundice, ascities and HE. In her case she had a much better chance of reversing it because it was caught in its infancy. The majority of us did not and itโs NOT reversible and we know the misery we deal with on a daily basis. The advice given is correct and if followed we have a chance of slowing the progression. For most of us, that is the best we can hope for. As far as what is covered in the doโs and donโts of eating, itโs a very basic list that we already are aware of. In my opinion what the book really leans towards being is one big pep talk. If you are already suffering with the consequences of mid to advanced cirrhosis, please donโt buy this thinking there is a magic cure. I personally didnโt learn anything from it that I didnโt already know. I am happy for the positive outcome that the author experienced but itโs unfortunate that the title is going to give a lot of people false hope and thatโs really kind of cruel.

Positive Personal Experience!!
This was an amazing read! A prime example of how what we eat damages or repairs our bodies! Scars caused by liver cirrhosis can not be reversed, but the un-scarred damaged parts of our liver can be healed, we can increase our life expectancy of Liver Cirrhosis.

Move Over All Other Self Help Book's
A very informative easy to read and follow personally written book. No more mad Dr Google searches leaving the thought that a diagnosis was a death sentence. Based on a REAL lovely lady who defied all odds to turn her life around. The book itself gives those of us with cirrhosis the ability to make lifestyle changes to enhance and further our longtivity. There's not once she says it'll guarantee a cure instead, offering insight how we can slow or halt the disease. However, in saying that she has reversed her cirrhosis without the need of a transplant. The book also discusses her own point of view of how she got to cirrhosis to start with. Including weight loss and management. As well as what to ask and expect out of your medical team. I highly recommend Reversing Cirrhosis as a first point of call before doing any Google searching. And this is coming from a cirrhosis survivor myself being alcohol related. I too have m Ade the necessary changes after following this book. โค๏ธ

A Must Read For Everybody
First and foremost, thank you for sharing your journey. When I was first diagnosed in May 2026, I felt numb. I was shocked, scared and just simply lost! I decided to start searching and I came across your book. Sue, have been a huge inspiration in my life. When I started reading so many of your own thoughts and the things you endured, brought me to the present life I am living. You have given me hope when I felt totally hopeless. With much love, from Holly in Nova Scotia.
