This IS NOT another knee-jerk, premature, blind, ignorant, and thoughtless review --- written immediately upon pulling the item from the Amazon box, the day of, or day later, like so many other reviews on Amazon. I've had this burner for 3 months and a week, as of the writing of this review --- so, I've actually had some decent time using this product, and really know the product ------ this item WORKS ----- WONDERFULLY ----- and is a STEAL ---- for what it's being priced at, relative to the quality and performance you get. I've had zero problems, experienced zero issues, and observed zero defects. AND.....nobody paid me to say this, gave me the item for free to review; nor, am I affiliated, in any way, with the likely, chinese maker, lol! Some of the attributes: Works with ANY cookware Heat application is varied and continuous, not on/off (like cheaper units) Lots of selectivity, in wattage and temperture: 200 watts 400 watts 600 watts 800 watts 1000 watts 1200 watts 1400 watts 1600 watts 1800 watts 176 degrees 248 degrees 284 degrees 320 degrees 356 degrees 392 degrees 428 degrees 464 degrees 510 degrees Buttons are high tech; you just hover over top of them, barely touching them, to activate One to four minute programmabe timer, in one minute increments Tons of safety control mechanisms built-in. Example: an internal fan triggers for a few minutes after operation, to cool internals down. Digital screen alerts when burner surface is hot, by flashing "Hot" on the screen --- and tons more safety systems built-in, quietly doing their job. The only one you may not care for: screen flashes segmented lines, indicating, the unit is receiving power, when not cooking. Some people want to permanently keep their unit plugged into the wall; I understand this, so they may find annoyance with the constantly flashing segmented lines on the unit's display, when not cooking. I have placed a little manual power on/off switch between the units power plug and the AC wall outlet, to kill all power, and turn off the flashing segmented lines on the unit's display, once I'm done with it --- easy remedy. Now, I have additional piece of mind, knowing: if anything was to shortout, or whatever else, my house couldn't possible burn down ---- there's no power to the unit, after use. The most interesting, and strange thing, about this item ---- it's noticeably higher quality appearance ---- versus where it is priced at ---- that is the first thing that strikes you, once you have it on the counter. If your buying this for around 50 dollars, where it is priced at when I wrote this review ---- you're stealing this unit. This thing could easily justify a hundred plus dollars, for this level of quality and performance. If this thing conks out in the next few months, I will certainly let you guys know; check back.

This portable cooktop has been a fantastic addition to my kitchen. It heats up quickly, maintains a consistent temperature, and the 1800W power is more than enough for everything from boiling water to frying food. I really like having both touch and knob controls—they make it simple to adjust the heat. The child safety lock and timer are great added features, and it's easy to wipe clean after cooking. If you're looking for a reliable portable burner, I highly recommend this one!

This is a dandy, 21st century single burner! After a practice round, I discovered how easy the temperature control was creating my favorite foods, esp. eggs and corned beef and, well, name it! Power control one finger on/off. Simple. This is a strong, well put together cooking dream, yet, light weight unit. you can carry it like a laptop to camping sites, dinner parties, etc. Compatible and strong stable on any flat surface...anywhere! This is not an induction unit, but you can use all current kitchen pots and pans you own. I did get a new set of cooking pots and pans as I had lost my old ones, but the new ones have aluminum bottoms and work wonderfully! After use, the system lets you know that it is still hot with and 'Hot' crawl for about 10 minutes. If you have small children, this baby will protect them with a 'kid's lock'. Get it, use it, enjoy it!

It's absolutely beautiful. Sleek and clean looking. I have a beautiful black cooktop range. I do hate cleaning it aftet cooking on it, to keep it looking great. Just hubby and I, so I thought I would try this being that we usually use one pan for both of us, or one of us at a time. So I won't have to clean a whole stove with splatters all over it for one pan. What a GREAT idea. Yes, this unit is beautiful, but it unbelievable how powerful this unit is. .The 2000 watts is the way to go..much stronger, plus the heating element can be adjusted to many levels. Not only that, the burner spreads out to two sizes. That part is fantastic as well. It heats up yo very, very hot, very, very fast. So easy to clean when your done. You definitely have to make sure it cools down first, then just wipe it down with a damp cloth. This unit is so nice looking, I have chosen not to store it away when not in use. I display it right on top of my black glass top range, on top of a black silicone mat. It actually looks like it belongs there on my stove. I will say about 3 weeks ago I bought a very inexpensive one to see if this would actually be a good idea. I loved it. Only thing was some my pans were to big for it and it is 1200 watts. As much as Ioved the idea of this unit, it just took a lot longer to cook things on it than I'd liked. So I bought this bigger one, choosing very carefully, because I now knew what I needed. I am so happy with my choice, that I am thinking about buying them Christmas gifts! Naturally, I highly recommend and the shipping was super fast!!

I’m sure this would be amazing on a campsite however, I was looking to purchase a burner for my husband to use outdoors while brewing his own beer. He had a 5 gallon steel pot of water sitting on it for over an hour and the pot never boiled. So he returned it.

Instructions say it is induction, but it accepts all my non-magnetic cookware, including aluminum so it can't be induction. On the 1400 watt setting, it boils water, and heats up so quickly! Grilled cheese sandwiches ready in minutes, sears steak, works as i hoped it would! I'd buy it again. Cooktop does stay hot after use, quiet operation, easy to use, display blinks when turned off. 11 inch wide table, heating area 7.5-8 inches wide, no warranty or manufacturers information anywhere

We're remodeling our kitchen and set up a "kitchen in exile" using this cooktop and an air fryer. The cook top is working very well. It's easy to control and quickly responsive. The quality seems high to me. It will boil fast or gently cook a fried egg.

...a great product...the ability to use ANY type of flat bottom pot/pan is the best bonus...it heats up fairly quickly and is easy to to 'wipe down/clean'.

Great product! Its much larger than i thought when ordering so will fit a large frying pen. The digital controls are easy to see and use.
