Good product but considering it’s all plastic material it should have been cheaper

We needed to replace ours as when having and extension done the builders didn't think to keep our original one but it is so easy to install it literally took 3 mins then only downside was the security screws where not able to grip hold of the new one but it does infect stay in the holder

My original Ring door bell mount's screw grooves had worn out after just 8 months.This one is perfect. Fitted it today and is much more stable that the original one that came with the Ring doorbell.

I brought this to mount my ring door bell to a wall, following a house move. It screwed to the wall easily and I mounted the doorbell fine, lightly screwing the 2 small screws into the bottom retaining lugs. When it came time to recharge the bell, I unscrewed to small screws from the retaining lugs, only to find the lugs had broken away from the backplate. From closer inspection it became clear just how poorly this item has been manufactured. Cheap, shoddy and absolutely not fit for purpose. So, lesson learnt - I'll be buying my spares and accessories directly from Ring in the future, not from some dodgy Chinese company that I've never heard of.

My backing for our ring doorbell is damaged. This is the perfect replacement. Well made, highly recommend!

The outer dimensions of the plate are as the original Ring product and the bell will fit into it- albeit a little looser, but the material is thicker and feels quite brittle, I didn't try to bend it, but it felt rigid and may not respond well to cold weather- the internal layout also didn't match the original- this may be due to a different process (3D print not injection moulding) but internal strengthened webs were not present. Also missing is the foam which accompanies the original mount plate, perhaps leading to leak paths behind the unit when mounted outside. The Screw holes whilst recessed, are not chamfered, so a flat head screw is best, not the chamfered ones supplied. It should also be noted that the security screws supplied by Ring- with a narrow end and special screw-head are now replaced by a normal crosshead screw- which does make it easier to simply unscrew and remove by unauthorised people, the recessed hole for the security screw is also larger than original which does make it likely a lever underneath will allow the bell to be removed. Whilst the above don't make this a bad product, it's not really making it a good one to give confidence that the doorbell is well mounted and secure. Perhaps if there are that many doorbells having to have a replacement month, Ring should consider making it a purchasable spare.
