be quiet! DARK BASE PRO 901 | Black Full Tower Noir

I saw this online while searching for a case for a new build, it looked incredible. I watched quite a few YouTube video reviews of it before deciding to buy it. It's a massive case, the sheer adaptability and configuration options it gives you so that you can tailor your case to match your system build with a case like this is outstanding. I like the fact that it can be virtually stripped to the base supports, and it's still as solid as a rock. The only downside some may have, is it's weight, it is a very heavy case. It's rigidity and stability, despite it's fully modular ability is the trade off for the weight I guess. One of the best features for me is the removable nature of the motherboard mounting tray, so that you can run a pre-build test of the components. At the very least, you build some of it with the motherboard tray on the table, and not have to worry about cramped conditions trying to fiddle with difficult parts to fit together. I used to build PC's in a previous job, and the sheer volume of scratches and cuts I'd come home with every day, this case is worth every penny just for that alone. After reading some reports on noise, it's so quite in comparison to my previous case. While running intensive processes, the 9 fans I have in my system will kick in to cool everything back down, you can hear that a little. Only once the system goes into full power mode does it get a little on the noisy side, and I am using the full airflow configuration. I opted to use optimal airflow over silent running. Anything I leave near the side, or front of the case gets chilled down so quickly. Excellent quality cooling. For sheer modularity, adaptability, ease of use, and quality makes this case a solid investment.

Great design and very flexible. Some small quality issues, easy remedied, but it should be perfect at this price.

I purchased this case with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience has been disappointing. The first unit arrived with a cracked side panel, and although a replacement was promptly sent, the second panel shattered shortly after completing the build without any impact or mishandling. In addition, the case fans are excessively loud, and the airflow becomes severely restricted once the panels are in place, leading to poor cooling performance. While this case might be acceptable for a basic storage system or a light day-to-day workstation, the tempered glass design and mounting clearly need improvement to prevent cracking and shattering. Overall, the build quality and design feel below standard for a gaming PC case, and I cannot recommend it based on my experience.

i undid the screws for the cabinet and the glass door came out. It then "fell" 2cm to the floor and shattered like it was thrown from my roof. I never saw anything like it. What a horrible design. The glass is NOT inside the bezel, its the same size. so this is just an accident that WILL happen eventually. Sidenote: after writing this review i looked online and found a lot of people complaining about this exact problem. Do not buy it before looking into this issue!

Bislang war ich kein großer Fan von Gehäusen mit der Möglichkeit zur Innenansicht. Das hat sich mit diesem be quite Dark Base Pro 901 allerdings grundlegend geändert. Es ist nicht einfach nur ein Gehäuse, es ist ein technisches Schmuclstück. Die Ästhetik des Designs, die Einstellmöglichkeiten der RGB-Laufbänder, die Anschlussmöglichkeiten des Frontpanels, das Fassungsvermögen des Innenraums und die Verblendung der Kabelbäume sind einfach nur Top of the Class. Ich bin schlicht begeistert!

Great case. Plenty of room for the very thick Arctic Freezer II 360 AIO which is a huge plus. The case comes with 2 140 fans on the front and 1 in the back. You can add another 140 so long as you don't use the 5.25" drive bay. I wanted to use it, so was limited to adding an additional 120mm fan in the front which just barely fit. I like the 5.25 drive bay option and is one of the reasons I chose this case. I opted for a hot swap drive bay but would have liked a second for an optical drive. Oh well. You'll notice the GPU support isn't covering the cable as intended. I think the support would bend the cable too hard and perhaps break connections. I'm not willing to take that chance. Also, a GPU with 3 fans doesn't provide many options for placement. I will be buying a different GPU support and removing the provide support, which is a shame because the Be Quiet support looks better. . There are so many options with this case that it almost seems like a waste. I have lots of pieces that are not going to be used, and these add to the cost. But I still chose this case so perhaps they have the right price/options blend. Summary: a large, well-constructed case with options for every build type. Would have liked a gromet on the back of the case, a reset button on the front and some additional SSD mounting options, but still well worth the price.
