Keeps butter at just the right temperature for east spreading. Unfortunately it chipped already after only 2 weeks of use. Very disappointed.

The dish and butter get moldy very quick. Disappointing to say the least. Might work if you go through butter very fast.

Dos the job, the butter has to be in room temperature, if it's too soft it will slide of and fall in the water

I had seen and wanted to try a butter crock. This works real well to keep my butter soft and protected from air. It is a nicely finished country styled crock that is a small size for countertops. Easy to use and a pretty addition to a country kitchen.

The overall butter bell jar is really nice, but there is no water line, as indicated in the title and description. Not sure how much water to put in as it says in the description to make sure you do not put water above the water line.
