The drive worked perfectly, the only problem is the attached cable that is soldered on the drive, it does not have the same folds of the original cable. Once I installed it, no disk could be inserted because the cable stuck up and hindered the laser carriage. I had to bend the cable and tape it across the other cable and cable connectors on the circuit board. Once I did that it was fine, I did not want to bend the cable like the original so I did the least bend as not to damage the cable. That was the only problem I had, I'm playing my PS3 right now and I'm very happy with the product.

Assuming you ordered this knowing what model of PS3 you're fixing and that you need this specific laser version... and that you know what you're doing with installing it...It worked great. Dropped right in and worked great (after I fixed the binding up CD loader mechanism that is). PS3 is able to play discs again.

i only used the laser eye out of the unit. for whatever reason my ps3 did not accept the whole thing.
