Do not buy if you want playability out of the box!
This ukulele came in unplayable condition, although the construction quality seems okay. The action was way too high, so I had to reseat the saddle and sand down the nut a full 1.5 millimeters. I had to clean up the slot in the bridge and sand a little width off of the bottom of the saddle to make it fit properly, and also had to shape one end of the saddle. Both the saddle and nut are made from a plastic, so will replace them with real bone to hopefully get better sustain and tone. Not a good choice if you do not want to put time into setting it up.

Great beginners ukulele
Great beginners ukulele. Only problem is it comes with cheap strings, which you could easily replace with a better brand.

ukulele
It's a good instrument for the price although a bit tough to tune. Definitely a keeper and fun to play.

Amazing!
When I first saw it online I knew it was worth the price. I got it really fast and it's great. At first you have to tune it a lot but when the strings stretch you're good. I am really satisfied with my new ukulele! I recommend it!

Considering the low price, this is a great little Uke for beginners
This ukulele was given to my son, but since he's only four years old, it didn't hold his attention for long. I figured I would store it until he got older. But then a funny thing happened: I started strumming it myself, and the sounds that came from it were so sweet and happy that I was picking it up time and time again. And then I began to play the ukulele in earnest. Like every moment I got. I watched all those YouTube instructional videos (Of which some are EXCELLENT) had some lessons from a professional teacher. I've even gone to a few local jams. And true, when I decided to seriously learn the instrument I did buy a more expensive ukulele. But I still pick this one up from time to time and still think it's a great one. When I play, the sound is bright. The body reverberates so much that it feels like the music is flowing through my body. It also stays in tune quite well. I'll play hard on it for multiple days and it's still on pitch. Now I have to add that I did get new strings for it. I do think if you get this, you should invest in better strings then what it comes with. The Aquila AQ-S Nylgut Soprano Ukulele Strings should work great.I think those that complain about it always going out of tune are just not aware of the nature of nylon strings. They stretch.A lot.Any ukulele gotten straight from the manufacture is going to need a breaking in period, even the more expensive ones. I recently purchased a Kala that was off pitch every five minutes of playing for two weeks. And then, gradually, it was perfect! It stayed in tune! So before you think this is junk, play on it for two weeks.Side note: The description says it is Eastern Mahogany but beginners may not know that this is laminate wood. This isn't necessarily a bad thing as there are laminate ukuleles in the $150+ range. And the laminate wood makes it more resistant to humidity and weather conditions. That said, the better ukulele players usually covet the solid wood ones.

reasonable price, refined appearance
the Good: 1)The price is very reasonable, I bought this for around $30. 2) And unlike some other inexpensive ukuleles, it is quietly attractive. the black strings it comes with it are OK quality. I personally will change them at some point, but they are playable. 3) The fret board is straight and true, the frets are even, body is sturdy, the satin paint is well applied. The Not so Good: 1)The tuning gears are poor quality, their movement is rough. I tried oiling them, but they are still coarse. 2) The action is high and the intonation is poor. If you are only playing a few chords in the first position you might not even notice, especially if you change out the strings. I filed the nut slots, especially the C string and lowered the saddle. With this the intonation is fine. In fairness I will point out some much more expensive instruments have needed this. As an aside: in regards to the complaints about the strings going out of tune, that is the nature of the beast. All stringed instruments have to be tuned each time you play and all new strings need to stretch. There are ways to make that happen quicker, the internet has many tutorials on doing just that.In conclusion, not a bad instrument. Not my first choice for playing either.
