This safety harness rope set is a great product for many uses. It provides 150 feet of rope slack capacity, which is plenty for most any application. The rope is super strong with reinforced layers and braiding so you have peace of mind. The weight capacity is 310 pounds. It comes with thick metal hardware that's integrated with the safety harness system. The locking mechanism is intuitively designed for easy operation and it has safeguards to protect from accidental releases. You literally have to push down on the lower end of the clip before it will open, which is a great safety feature. The hardware can withstand 3600 pounds according to the specs. It also comes with two very strong still snap hooks that connect to whatever equipment you use to anchor the rope. It has a spring switch that locks on both sides and the specs indicate a minimal break strength of 5000 pounds. In the event of a fall, this rope is designed to absorb the shock. There's many uses for this product. Although this is technically a roofing tool but it can also be used for climbing, or really any other activity that requires you to be in the air or at high altitudes with the risk of falling.

I got this to work on a metal roof at my home. I do not know if it meets all typically required certifications for commercial work, but it looks like it will do the job I need it to. I have quite a bit of tree climbing gear to compare it to and it looks well made. The locks are not as robust on some of my other gear but I think they are adequate for the task. I cannot find any certification for the rope but I do not see any obvious manufacturing defects. I would like to see the rope certifications, typically they are under a clear heat shrink on the rope.For my home use I think this should work fine.

This is one of those things - like a car airbag - that you cannot test until you need it. In this case, all I can do is check the components for quality and test the cam lock mechanism.The Rope is well made with formed loops at both ends and a steel snap hook pre-attached on one end. The arresting cable has an identical snap hook at one end and the rope grab at the other end. The snap hooks have a positive lock that prevents them from opening under tension yet can easily be managed with one hand.I assembled the rope grab onto a section of rope to make sure that a.) it gripped solid and b.) allowed for movement along the rope when necessary. I have no intention of testing the lanyard itself.This of course is designed to be used with a good fitting personal harness in good repair. It is also important to make sure it is rigged correctly and that the attachment point is secure and capable of handling the force involved.I will be happy to update this review should I ever 'test' it for real!

Heavy duty 5/8" braided polyester rope with two substantial steel snap hooks. One end of the rope has a snap hook built on the the end with a quality loop in the rope. Steel snap hook will not rust and is easy to use with the wide mouth and the spring mechanism. The part that I have found the most helpful is the self locking rope grab. I use the line and the grab to do landscaping work on a very steep 90ft bluff. The self locking rope grab allow me to keep my hand free and still be able to stay secure on the hill. When I want to move up or down the hill I simply loosen the lock - move and re-secure. Very easy to use and the safety factor is great. Package comes with a convenient nylon bag for holding both the rope and locking mechanism.
