Toomies Hide and Squeak Eggs - Baby Sensory Shape Sorter Toy, 6-36M

We bought these Hide & Squeak Eggs when my daughter was 8 months old after visiting a family member who had a set. She was absolutely obsessed with them and they were one of the only toys she consistently played with during the 4–5 days we were there, so we knew we had to get some for her! They’re exactly what I was looking for as I wanted some toys that encouraged cause and effect, and the bright colours make them appealing without being overly neon or obnoxious. You get six eggs and the carton, and everything feels really well made. The eggs are sturdy and high quality without being too heavy for little hands. My daughter is now 9 months old and plays with these almost every day. She shakes them, rattles them, bangs them together, bangs them on the floor, throws them, chews them and generally puts them through their paces! 😂 She understands that she can make the eggs make noises and deliberately squeaks and rattles them rather than it just happening accidentally. She can take the shells apart and put them back together independently, although she isn’t yet matching the faces or shapes. She also can’t open the carton herself yet, but at 9 months I don’t consider that a negative. Once I open it for her, she’ll happily play with the eggs independently and will return to them herself. One thing I particularly like is that the carton is actually part of the learning activity rather than just somewhere to store the eggs. Each egg has a particular shape on the bottom and there is a corresponding space for it in the carton. She enjoys putting the eggs back into the carton, even though they don’t necessarily end up in the correct spaces yet. I think with continued play she’ll gradually start to understand the shape and colour matching, and the toy should remain challenging for her for quite a while yet. The eggs have also proved to be extremely sturdy. They’ve been dropped, thrown, chewed and enthusiastically bashed against floors, walls, doors and each other, and we’ve had no cracking, damage or loss of the squeaking/rattling noises. I’ve never noticed them collecting much dirt or dust either, and I just give them a wipe over occasionally. I was also pleasantly surprised by the volume. They’re loud enough to be interesting and engaging for a baby, but not so loud that they’re distracting when we’re having a conversation. Most importantly, the squeaking isn’t obnoxious enough to make me regret buying them when I hear it for the hundredth time! 😂 We’ve had them for around a month now and they’re played with almost every day. I think they’re fantastic value for money and would absolutely recommend them. I’d happily buy them as a gift, and I’m actually considering buying a second set to keep in the car for journeys and visits so we don’t have to risk losing any of the main set. Overall, I think these are absolutely worth buying. If these were the only toy I had available for my daughter, I genuinely don’t think she’d be bored. They’re fun, durable, encourage cause-and-effect play, and have plenty of room for her to develop the matching and shape-sorting aspects as she gets older.

Child friendly and Great for little hands. Plenty of entertainment. Eye catching for little ones. Perfect size and can all be stored back in eggbox afterwards

My baby loves these, very easy to remove and put back together. Different noises and he likes to push them down for the sound. Good for a baby who is at the stage of picking up things and putting things together.

The old faithful for baby toys! Great toy for baby to play with, tidies away nicely in a small box and is lovely and colourful too. Our little one loves playing with these and I can see why most parents I know have these.

Had these for my son 6 years ago and I kept them but missing some bits so I bought them for his brother who’s 1.5 he loves them! They are much bigger than the older ones

Baby loved these, they are easy for under 1yr olds to grip and hold . She loved popping them in and out of the box . Easy to carry in your bag too. Alternative to sweet treats as Easter gift. They are fun and would recommend for a gift

Schönes Spielzeug für Kleinkinder. Vielseitig bespielbar, Farben, Fomen, Stecken.... In unserer Kinderkrippe und bei meinem Enkelkind kommt es sehr gut an. Absolute Empfehlung !!! Stabiles Material daher langlebig. Leicht zu reinigen.
