ＪＡＰＡＮ＼ＭＵＳＥＵＭ Choju-Jinbutsu-Giga / Animal Person Caricatures / Japanese Picture Scroll Artwork | Roots of Japanese Manga & Anime | Hand-printed Emakimono (Small Size, 4-scroll Set)

It's a beautiful reproduction. The scroll's covering and the paper all throughout is very high quality. It is well wrapped to protect the scroll. You can see that the pieces were glued together delicately with minimal overlap and the printing is realistic and detailed. The paper is thick and high quality. You view it by opening a segment of it at a time, then rolling it up and then opening the next segment to view. Of course you can try to open it as wide as you can to view it as well but it's extremely long and I'm not sure how you would manage that. It's a fantastic gift for someone you know well and they will surely enjoy it for a long time.

Got this as a gift for a housemate who's dad is from Japan. They're not into manga or anime, but they do appreciate thoughtful gifts, and this is a really stunning replica of Japanese history. This is an expensive and delicate gift. Probably not for a kid, or someone who doesn't like gifts much. The scroll is vertically short, but very long horizontally, and meticulously wrapped and recreated. I'll try to update soon with a video unboxing. Suffice it to say, buy this if you know it will be a perfect gift for someone, but maybe skip it if the price / value to giftee isn't worth it.

This was what I would call a decent replica of its time. It is not perfect, or excellent, but decent is the best representation I can voice. It is fairly easy to see the difference in materials used, difficult to see if it was "drawn by hand" or printed via ink jet. The medium the scroll was crafted is modern day but with some good antique making practices. All in all, for the price of it, and knowing it's a replica, I think it's a bit of a loss, as there is not enough value to me that would make me want to purchase the entire set of scrolls (or even another one) 3 stars

This print is very neat. It's a good quality. It's put together well. It comes in a box wrapped up very well in a scroll and then you unscroll it and you can see the different depictions of the animals and it is just really a neat print to have.

I love this , everything about this. It unrolls like back in the day when the messenger would have a message to deliver to the king. The art work on this roll is so freaking cool. It has a various hand drawn pictures of animals on them. This is the perfect gift for a lover of Japanese art.
