Yes, it will write for a while until all the ink in the feed runs out, so you do need to unscrew the top to continue writing.

Can this pen be filled with a syringe?

it can but it is easier filling from a bottle. To syringe fill it, you need to unscrew the vac fill knob, then you need to unscrew the section. You can then use the syringe to fill the pen, screw the section back on and carefully close the vac knob to make sure ink doesn't burp.

how do you get the nib out of the v126 to swap with another? it seems like its part of a nib unit that wont pull apart.
