It is mustard so somewhat spicy but not especially peppery. It does have that special green pepper taste, rather like a California pepper tree smells

I don’t use the Green Label - far too hot to be enjoyable. I use the brown label and it does not list anything but: water, vinegar, mustard seeds, Salt and Spices.
