Chef'n SaltBall Salt Grinder, One Handed Refillable Salt Mill, Adjustable from Ultra-Fine to Coarse, 8 x 8 x 15 cm, Black

I originally had the previous design , which was bought as a gift, however the salt ball ears snapped off through normal use and still having the pepper ball I replaced with the new design. This appears a better construction than the old design, and the although many people complain about the ability to grind the salt that come with the product I have experienced no difficulties. Additional the fine to course grinding also appears to work well fro me . The only negative that I have noticed is the filling is a little tricky but thats really looking for a fault. All in all a good replacement for it's previous iteration.

To put salt into the grinder, you have to take hold of the “ears” and turn them. This releases the top and provides access to the innards. Then put the ears back on and tighten up again. The thing is that it’s often difficult to fully tighten the ears once the bunny has had its fill of salt. And if the ears are not fully tightened, the grinder mechanism doesn’t work. The ears are all floppy. You have to take a gamble that you’re not going to snap off the ears during tightening. Grab that bunny good and firm and give its ears a good twist and it’ll be good to grind. But we (it’s not just me in the house that this happens to) find that when in use it’s easy for the ears to twist slightly and come loose. You’re half way through salting your chips and the ears go all floppy. So you have to fiddle with it, turning the ears back and forth until they “bite” and you can continue your grinding. I full expect that the ears will snap during one of my floppy-eared, salt-deprived, mid-grind interruptions. There’s only so much gentle ear-tweaking one can do when faced with incompletely salted chips.

Great design - much easier than the standard grinder and fun too! Only had it a few weeks but it seems to be lasting ok, may be an issue of steam from saucepans clogging up the outlet but no sign of it so far.

Love this salt grinder. I had a similar one, but it was accidentally dropped and it shattered. I think I prefer this one, much easier to refill and being able to opt for grain thickness is a great addition. It's very comfortable to use, perfect size, and I keep this as my personal salt grinder when cooking. Only downside I think is that it is slightly expensive as Waitrose sell one for £12. However, my local store didn't stock it. So I bought this instead, bearing in mind it was delivered free of charge with Amazon, can't complain too much. Would be happy to recommend.

Whilst it worked well the plastic tabs joining the clear container to the black base are not strong enough to take the force of the grinding mechanism. My grinder broker one year after purchase.

Looks nice and it is easy to use but I think it could crunch the salt a bit more!

Perfect size easy to adjust grind size by simple twist of the base, solid and very nice looking. Looove this product!!!

I had previously bought a pepper grinder like the salt grinder. I bought salt grinder 12/24/15. While using it today the bottom fell off and salt went everywhere. Not two months old and fifteen dollars and change is in the trash. Don't waste your money on such a cheapo product

Loved it so much so weve purchased the pepper grinder as well!
