Description states "lightweight". Can this vest be worn year round? (I am assuming it not a heavy vest for the winter months.)

According to my spouse, she would not recommend it for really warm weather. She has worn it on a day when the temperature was in the mid 70's and she did not get overheated. But any warmer than that and she would've taken it off (mainly because it is black in color and black absorbs heat). If the temperature is below 60 degrees, she suggests wearing a long sleeve shirt or sweater since the vest offers no arm protection.

Would I be too warm wearing this on a 70F+ day walking around a city?
