The actual food diet as outlined by the research team of the 5-day mimicking diet.
This is the only resource I have found that seems to have been written by the research team themselves of this diet.It appears to be a translation from Italian, which is the nationality of the primary researcher.Mima Digiuno is not a person, but translates to ‘fast mimicking’, and the book references repeatedly how to use the calculator on the fast mimicking diet website (which now only sells their own meals to fund their non-profit research, certainly understandable.)I imagine this was what they were teaching before they began selling their pre-made meals. So if you are planning on doing your own version of the diet, this book would be an excellent reference. The recipes are simple, but are accurately measured to their specs of macro and micro nutrients. I have seen quite a few misguided DIY versions on the web and it seems they don’t really understand...the proportion of different types of food are what is important, and most people add fruit and grains or starchy foods like potatoes, all of which are specifically not recommended during the 5 day fast by the authors. I have done my own versions, and it is a lot of time and work to figure it out. This book makes it simple. The recipes are very very simple. A valuable use of the book for me was to see which foods were used in their recipes, and if I wanted to tweak them using the same foods, I did.The diet, by the way, is highly effective. Highly recommended for health, longevity, and weight loss too if you need that.

This book is simply an invaluable guide for doing the FMD at home
Sure, other reviewers who complain that the English translation of this book is not perfect are right -- the wording is awkward in places, and the recipes use a few food names that are less familiar to U.S.-English speakers (e.g., "courgette" instead of zucchini) -- but that couldn't matter less. This book is chock-full of practical, precise meal plans and recipes for doing a five-day FMD at home. If you want more depth of information about the FMD itself, translated perfectly, read Valter Longo's book. Mima Digiuno's book is a practical meal-plan/recipe book. As people familiar with the FMD will know, it is a five-day diet. Day 1 calls for one set of parameters, and days 2-3-4-5 call for a second set of parameters. This book has eight day-1 meal plans (each with breakfast, lunch and dinner), and 18 day-2-3-4-5 meal plans. To follow the meal plans in this book you will need a kitchen scale that can measure in grams.

Hmm not very helpful
OversimplificationPurely 100% vegetarian &I legumesA summarized copy of the other book misnamed the longevity diet also vegetarian and legumes based on selling the (expensive) meal substitute program called Pro-Lon that you order on line. Just go with Brad Pilon a better read with actual results in Eat-Stop-Eat book no need to buy any program: you do look a bit younger after a while on Brad's techniques.

Hard to convert!
I did the Prolon kit version which was expensive! $200 for the 5 days although it included everything you needed (teas, supplements). Wanted to try making the recipes myself but this book is all in grams and very difficult to convert. I want to pursue finding the recipes. I did the diet once for the 5 days and felt great afterwards. The arthritis I have felt drastically better. Want to do it again.

Who wrote this book?
Mima Digiuno is not a name in Italian. At least, I think I am accurate in my thinking. Never heard of the first name "Mimicking" used in Italy or in the U.S. for that matter. To say that the Fast Mimicking Diet is written by the Mimicking Fasting Diet seems more than a little odd.

Remember: RESTRICTION is 1 key to health.
I like the concept of eating in such a way that the body can rest. I could not eat the food choices because I follow the the blood type diet by Doctor Peter Dadamo which also has food restrictions that conflict with the fasting diet.

Useful and interesting book
Useful to get an accurate idea of the fasting mimicking diet and to be able to apply it, especially with the use of the web app indicated in the book. It provides useful recipes, diversified both for quantities and for types of ingredients. Pratical indications that make it possible to use fresh products at home in order to have a healthy diet.

Don't recommend this book
The second paragraph of this book has the following statement:"This book is intended only as a disclosure tool for the reader and should not be used as a reference to change one's".I don't have a lot of confidence in a diet book that is so sloppily written and wouldn't recommend this to anyone considering a fasting mimicking diet.
