NOT 90W, but suits my need
I wanted to add some additional lighting the the back of my 2017 L200 pick-up as the standard reverse light is very poor. I looked at various cheap LED units to try and work out what I could mount where and settled on this slim bar.Despite there being many sellers appearing to sell self branded versions of these LED lights, it arrived in a plain brown box with an instruction booklet that appears to cover every single cheap LED light on Amazon!Advertised as 90W, I was sceptical. On a 12v supply, I measured a little over 1.5A of current draw with a multimeter.12V multiplied by 1.5A is only 18W, so realistically, this is a 20W light. With such a low draw I wired this in to the existing reverse light wiring with no additional switches or relays. It works fine as I engage reverse with no fear of blowing the factory fuse. The light is mounted just under the tailgate and above the number plate (which I lowered about 1.5 inches so it was not obscured). It is quite well protected from the elements and spray from the road etc. so time will tell how well it resists moisture.I like the amber colouring which is a nicer light than the bright white LEDs and should work better in snow.I have included a couple of pictures to show the fitment and how bright it is.I certainly would not be happy if I mounted this on the front as a driving light but on the back it does produce plenty of light for my intended purpose, hence I gave it four stars. This will drop if the LEDs start to fail or if it fills up with water!
