Can these be used for sleg hammer condition work?

Not sure. I'm 200lbs and do box jumps. A sledge hammer might create too much force.

Is the material durable enough for use w shoes?

I've been using mine for a few months and it is very durable. I only use it with shoes and have had no issues.

Should i buy the 16lb box or spend more for the 60lb box? i am 5'8'' and 175lbs. also, down the line, i think i may get two boxes to stack.

Safety... 16 lbs isn’t a lot to hold something down if you just barely make the top of the box.. IMO I had no question and went with the 60
