TARARIUM Aquarium Filter Powerful 260GPH for 35-75 Gallon Fish Tank
I bought the TARARIUM Aquarium Filter Powerful 260GPH for 35-75 Gallon Fish Tank filter for my red eared slider turtle's tank (55 gallon tank with about 25 gallons of water). I rescued the turtle and honestly had no idea how dirty these guys are. I have had to replace multiple filters, so I bought this as a replacement and as a second filter to the one I already had. The filter uses no cartridges (saves $$), it has foam that you take out and clean each time it needs cleaning. The foam gets dirty pretty quickly but there is no additional cost for extra filters unless the foam detierorates, although that has not been an issue yet! It functions well and cleans the water and the filth well. It has a hose that uses air (I attach the hose to my a fake plants branch) and it creates a strong stream or current that my turtle loves to stand in, the pressure massages him! I have had the filter for a few months now and I waited to write the review so I could provide a real review and I am extremely happy with this filter. I would buy again and recommend. It is durable, quiet and my turtle loves it! I reached out to the company when I received it because I thought I was missing something and they responded right away. Customer service is good too! I don't know how it would be for fish, the water is pushed pretty hard by the air, but I am happy with it for my turtle!!!

Very powerful
This filter is very powerful. It has the ability to add oxygen to the tank quickly along with being a good wave maker as well, depending on where you place it in the tank. For a large aquarium its an average size filter, just long. You can place it vertical or horizontal, whichever is best for you. The noise level is there. I've had aquariums for years from Cichlids to gold fish and many in between, along with many kinds of filters. There are some extremely quiet filters out these days but don't expect this filter to be one of them. This is the most powerful filter I have ever used and with power comes a noise. As for cleaning, it gets the tank chrystal clear. Changing the filter is very easy and full adjustable to the size of the tank by easily removing parts of the filter to fit size of any tank.PRO: The biggest advantage for me is having to no longer by bioballs, coal packets etc. That is the biggest expense owning an aquarium. It builds up over time. With this filter you just wash the sponges and you're good. You may even be able to add other filtration articles such as rocks or bioballs if you feel the need too.OVERALL: Best purchase I have ever made for an aquarium. Would purchase again for my next aquarium project.

Powerful and Easy to Handle
During my aquaristic journey, I’ve tried out different types of filters, most prominently HOBs. It was only that I decided I wanted to go with an internal filter for my 20G long full time, the reason being, I wanted a less cluttered look on the back of my tank, and I wanted to place the filter in a corner. I never enjoyed the look of the inlet pipe of my HOB being almost in the middle of the tank’s back wall. Now, this filter is rated for a minimum size of 35 gallon. It’s really strong, and I had to adapt the outlet pipe in order to make it work in a 20G long. Modification was easy with one of the three sponges that came with it enlarging the output and another smaller sponge I had laying around placed inside the larger sponge breaking and obstructing the flow of the output down to a gentle current that still reaches the end of the tank. Without these modifications, the current was too violent for the shape and size ofmy aquarium given the fact the filter is not recommended for sizes below 35 gallons.Nevertheless, I believe if the manufacturer added a flow control to this design, it could be the perfect application for a variety of tank sizes. The compartments are easy to detach and attach to the motor housing. I can only use two of the three compartments due to the smaller height of my tank. You can fill them with any media you prefer. No surprises here.Another boon is the fact my water changes now are done super easily. I attach a hose I already had from a different application, and easily drain the tank to the level I want to. While this is not vacuuming the ground, I have an Eheim gravel vacuum for precisely this need.In terms of operational noises, I cannot hear the filter at all. If this one lasts several or many years, I think I’ve found my favorite filter model at last.

Quiet, powerful, and easy to clean!
The media could not be loaded. For context, 55 gallon freshwater tank and we’ve tried a lot of filters. After losing our tropical fish of 7 years to a Christmas Eve heater failure we’ve since had fancy goldfish. Goldfish although lovable are very dirty. We spent hours researching and reading reviews and landed on this one. It has one setting for water flow, an adjustable set up for air flow, it’s easy to install and clean. It can also be used for water changes to pump excess water out when needed. This is our first submergible and we’ve been extremely pleased with it thus far. The fact that it’s not $300, it’s quiet, our fish don’t mind the stronger current, and we don’t have to bother with additional purchases for media and expensive filter cartridges has been a pleasant surprise! We don’t have near the evaporation loss and our fish appear to be happy and adjusted well to the stronger current. Initially, they stuck to one side of the tank. Mind you with no apparent stress or concern. Video provided is with AC and TV turned off. We don’t notice the sound at all when everything is on.P.S.A if you love your fish and care about your time and investments set an alarm on your phone every 3 years to replace your thermostat people. That inexpensive thermostat failing killed all of our fish overnight and I was distraught wondering what could have possibly happened the next morning.
