I've got a ton of gun cleaning tools, picks, brushes, et al - just like lots of gun guys. This particular set, though, is the one I always end up using ever since I got it a few months ago. I have other Real Avid stuff, and I like it, too, so when I saw this set I decided to grab it - glad I did. The plastic/poly tools are flexible but strong, and are far safer than metal (even brass) tools when scrubbing down a rifle or pistol. I can really apply pressure to break up stuck-on carbon while not worrying about scratching the finish of my guns. The brushes are nylon and bronze-phosphor, which is pretty standard (for a reason). There are enough similar tools in this kit that I divided the tools up, 3 and 3, and took one 'set' to my workbench in the basement, while leaving the other 'set' up where my other guns are usually located. The entire kit is cheap enough that you can buy two, stick one away in a drawer someplace, and have a backup in case, God forbid, your tools are eventually broken/lost. Real Avid keeps on getting my personal business because they (for the most part) make practical tools that are reliable and strong enough to hold up. I'd buy again in a second, w/o a doubt.

Huge quality of life improvement for cleaning equipment. While I would not say that these picks are "necessary" for any cleaning job, I will say that they go a long ways towards supplementing an already solid cleaning kit: they do a REALLY great job of getting at those hard to reach places where I would otherwise spend a lot more time with substantially-less effectiveness (nooks and crannies, star-chambers, etc.). If you don't yet have any cleaning supplies for your equipment and can only afford one cleaning kit, this is NOT it (you really need to get yourself something that will clean barrels, etc.). However, if you already have a solid cleaning kit and are looking to vastly improve your quality of life while cleaning/maintaining, this is a solid purchase. I have purchased extras for my brother to supplement his woefully inadequate kit and it seems to have improved his regimen (and...if it's easier to clean...it's more likely to get cleaned).

A little pricey, but all Real Avid stuff tends to be....that being said, Real Avid products also tend to be high quality, and these are no different. I’ve used these on both AR15’s and multiple pistols. They’re strong and work exactly as expected, with lot’s of options. Nice kit with plenty of tools to get the job done and for the most part works very well. After using for a few ammo cleanings the bristles started to fray out and not stay in the form of the brush.

Many other brush sets like this are so thin and brittle that they just break when you use them. This set is more robust. The handles being plastic and the bristles being soft enabling cleaning without marring the finish. I'm pretty happy with this set.

Nice little tool kit for use in hard to reach places like air purifier and dryer.

Great and very satisfied

These are good for what non-metal picks are made to do. They will reach into small spaces and remove debris that is not “baked on” without scratching your gun. Just keep in mind they are polymer and will flex.
