Great for our senior!
We have had and worn these for several days and are super happy with them thus far. Our 10-year-old lab has arthritic front feet, we have a very long and rocky driveway that gets walked a couple of times a day, and he had started exhibiting lameness after his second walk of the day and would stay on the porch refusing to walk. We are already on Librela monthly for his shoulders so wanted to offer him a way to manage the discomfort/pain. Enter shoes to help mitigate tenderness. To begin with, this fella’s feet are HUGE (almost 3.5” across without any weight on them) so finding shoes to fit is a challenge. We started with another brand that has a sole with moderate durability and neoprene uppers. They are okay enough but barely lasted 10 days with the underbrush on our property. Looking for more durability, we took the chance on the largest of these RuffWear shoes after seeing photo reviews of other pups that seemed to have paws as large as he. He has worn shoes before in his life so acclimated quickly to these. They are a shorter design than most and so are incredibly easy to slip on. The sole is very sturdy and thus a bit stiff to begin with; I do recommend ensuring your pup’s nails are trimmed to reduce any discomfort from pressure when wearing them. We don’t have dew claws so I cannot speak on that being an issue or not. The Velcro fastener is secure and the shoes seem to stay in place when the shoe is on and secured. We don’t wear them for extended periods; maximum of about 30 minutes per outing so we haven’t noticed any damage to his paws but I’d imagine we should break them in before attempting a longer walk or hike. Shoes in general have helped with his tenderness/lameness but our initial pair was just good enough. These offer extra protection between his feet and the rocky ground, are super easy to slip on, and have withstood the underbrush on the property. Are they pricey? Yes. Do I think they are worth it at this time? Also, yes.*Update* We have had these just over a month. We still love them! The soles have broken in well and become more pliable and are holding up well. Our guy wears these a few times a day for 15-30 minutes at a time to either walk the property or play a game of fetch. He’s even gotten to a point that he lifts his paw to help us take them on and off. We even picked up a second pair to put in rotation.

Good fit, stay on well.
They look good, they fit well and stay on. What more do you want? Oh yes quality! Best quality I have seen in my many many years working with dogs in booties.

Good boots not so good service
I ordered these for my dog. They only fit the back legs so I ordered larger ones for the front. When they arrived they were a mismatched pair so I had to reorder the larger size again .I did not get a refund for the mismatch return .Not happy. These are not cheap. Will not buy again.

Perfect fit!
This boot was perfect for my English Mastiff. I cinched it up on his paw below his dew claw and he wore it with no problem at all. It was easy to get on, too! Part of his pad was raw so this boot allowed air to get in and kept him from licking his paw.

Just what we needed for our Westie
The media could not be loaded. In response to some of the bad reviews- yes it is work to get your dog used to them. Yes, you will have to likely buy two for the back paws, and larger size for the front. That’s why they only come in pairs.I bought these for my westie because we went on a long hike a couple years Go and his paw pads got all sorts of wounds and blisters. A few epsom salt soaks and rest healed him right up. Just 2 days ago we went on an 11mile hike at sandia crest. Because the path was mostly dirt and moist, and then snow, we did not put the boots on. However, once we got back we checked his paws, and yes, they were a little worn raw and sore. Here is where the shoes come in. We put them on for him to go out on his potty walks and he doesn’t limp on the gravel. We even visited the Grand Canyon 2 days later and put the shoes on as soon as he was showing signs of tender foot and immediately he stopped limping and ran around. And yes, while he is getting used to them they will fly off. And yes, i have to make them as tight as i can but i assure you they do not cut off his circulation. Once he learned to walk normally and i learned to tighten them correctly, he walked quite a long time in them successfully. He does have dew claws and so far they aren’t bothered. I do have socks on the way which i recommend. Like any pair of hiking shoes you would wear, break them in and go for a long walk to see if irritation or blisters pop up. You can’t just put these on and take your dog for miles and then be surprised when something has been rubbed raw. And for any westie owners out there, for my 16lb westie i bought the 1.5in for the back paws, and the 1.75in for the front. These boots will allow us to enjoy our outings together until his paws completely heal.

For the price I expected better
As a disclaimer, my biggest issue with these is how quickly they wore down, BUT, my dog is a bit of a special case. He’s older and drags one of his back feet as he walks, so he wears down the “toe” of the boot much quicker than what I assume is normal. With that being said, I’ve had $25 boots last nearly 3x as long for him compared to these. He goes on 3-4 short walks (around 10-15 min) a day, and one of these boots only lasts about a week before there’s a big hole and I need to switch out boots. Again, with the cheaper boots, I can get easily 2-3 weeks before needing to switch. My second issue is this set only comes with 2 boots. I saw afterwards that it does say so in the description, which I didn’t fully read, so that’s my bad; I can’t fault the company for that. But there’s a listing that specifies 2 boots, and one that doesn’t, so I assumed it would include 4 since… I mean… dogs usually have 4 feet. $50 for 4 seemed reasonable enough if the quality was good, and once I realized it was only two, I thought maybe that meant they would be REALLY good quality so I kept them. But as I mentioned earlier, I get longer lasting boots for almost 1/4 of the price per boot. These are a cute color, and I’m sure they’d last longer for dogs that lift their feet properly when they walk, but considering the fact they’re so expensive for only 2 and I’ve seen better results with cheaper options, I don’t see myself buying or recommending these again. I would have given only 1 or 2 stars but I’m trying to account for the fact my dog is a special case so I’m settling at 3.
