Impressive model this is my fourth one, some of the parts are quite fragile so be careful. There is no glue with the kit you will also need a few tools like modelling knife and tweezers also two batteries.really worth the effort good luck a definite buy

This is completely unassembled when you get it, I think that's part of the process but forgive me because I'm far from completion but I will get there eventually! The parts come all attached to wood which you can just pop out. It includes the lights as well. This would be an amazing activity for a young teenager who is into arts and crafts (and probably not for those who aren't) but even as an adult it's a nice relaxing hobby where unlike something like, say a jigsaw, you end up with an incredibly beautiful book end (or mantle piece).You will require your own glue and a steady hand as a lot of the very small parts require stickers, but then end result really speaks for itself (While I haven't completed this specific one, I have finished a couple and I can already see this is even better quality). Only a nit-pick but the wood had a bit of a strange smell to it, but once aired that dissipates.If you got the time then I wholeheartedly recommend this. They're really fantastic to look at and it's one of those things that leaves you satisfied when done. It's not a simple task so I wouldn't suggest it for very young kids but I would estimate 14+ is a good age. The instructions may require an adult to help but they’re generally easy enough to follow.I think the £43.99 price tag is okay. I had a memory of it being £39.99 which I thought was perfect but I must be mistaken and I do still think it's in the acceptable range. Well worth it but just realise it's not a quick 30 minute and done job, but as said, that's half the fun.

I really enjoyed building this, but the instructions were sometimes a bit vague, especially the ones for the little books and stickers. It's the first time I've ever built a book nook, but it won't be the last! It would help if the pieces had the numbers printed on them rather than just next to them on the pop out board. Some of the words are badly translated, so some parts took a process of elimination to understand what they were for, I managed to work it out in the end with a little bit of patience and minimal bad words. The pieces popped out really easily, and I had no issues getting the parts to fit together. I used craft Tweezers for the small fiddly parts and high tack craft glue to stick everything down, it worked very well, and set pretty quickly. The cuts on the large book stickers were poorly lined up so I had to cut them down on one side, but they looked fine once I'd trimmed them so it wasn't an issue. Wiring up the lighting was fiddly and initially frustrating, but it was pretty easy once I understood how the little circuit board worked. I managed to hide the wires easily and I really love how it looks when it's lit up, the lights really bring it to life! It looks great on the shelf next to my Mina Lima Harry Potter books! The little books are so cute and the little details on the furniture really do make it look good. It took me around 5 hours to put together because it took a while to understand some of the instructions, but I got there in the end. I love it so much that I've ordered a different one to build on my day off work at the weekend. I'd definitely recommend this one, but take your time and be patient with the instructions.

This is the second book nook kit I have constructed, and I found this one to be much better quality. I love that it is not just plain balsa wood, it is coloured properly and really looks stunning. You get book sheets to cut or tear out as they are perforated, I cut them just in case I tore wrong and you also get sheets of book cover stickers, they are brilliant, just peel and stick. There are over 60 books in total. The wooden pieces are a nice thickness, they push out of the boards well. There are so many wonderful things to put on the walls, picture frames of various sizes, a clock, mirror plus lots more, the pieces are really ornate. I have used a very tacky glue that dries clear. You do most of the build on the walls before constructing the building, it makes things so much easier as you have room to work. The bookshelf unit is gorgeous, I’d be happy to have that in my home, there are cutouts on the furniture like proper joints, it is much nicer than just gluing flat wood together, the results are neat and sturdy. The organ detail is fantastic, with stops and pedals, it clicks together well. The lighting kit is brilliant, instructions are good, so you won’t have a problem fitting the lights in place, the lighting is touch sensitive, so you don’t even need to turn it round the back to switch the lights on. I really enjoyed making this, it is worth taking your time with each step to get a perfect Magical Book House.

I'll start by saying that the kit is worth 5 stars. It's great. And the finished product *can* look amazing.My problem is that I'm a bit clumsy and I rushed when trying to assemble this. The time they suggest you need - a few hours - is nowhere near what I would need!I found extracting the little book pieces, for example, very fiddly and I managed to ruin a few. That's my fault, not the fault of this kit.I would only say that to get the full 5 star result from this you probably need 5 star crafting skills, which I definitely don't have!

The book nook kit is a beautifully detailed 3D puzzle / creative project that allows you to build a cool bookshelf decoration. The level of detail and precision in the design of the book nook is really impressive as is the quality of the materials. The finished piece looks incredible and feels pretty sturdy too.Admittedly, the instructions aren't always crystal clear and sometimes you've got to take your best guess or figure things out based on the pictures or common sense but that's all part of the fun. You'll also need to provide your own glue - I used PVA craft glue which dried quickly and seemed to work fine. It took me around 6 hours to make in total and I thoroughly enjoyed putting the nook together. The recommended age of 14 years + for this is about right, it takes a lot of patience and there's lots of small parts so it's not ideal for younger children.Although I love the book nook, I was disappointed with the quality of the battery pack - I struggled to properly fit one of the batteries and the switch doesn't close fully when the batteries are installed so you can't close the bottom. One of the washers holding the pack in place was faulty too. I've had to take the batteries out as it didn't feel very safe, which is a shame as the lights really add to the effect.Overall, this is a really fun project and would make a brilliant gift for anyone who loves crafts, puzzles and books!

My wife and I had a blast doing this little kit! Make sure to get gorilla glue or something because it does not come with any. But once you have that its such a fun time! Easy to do, user friendly. And if you are not sure where something goes just look a few steps ahead in the instruction-manual. Can't wait to get another one!
