The prong tips were tight to put on, so I used a little dish soap. They are working great on my 26 year dishwasher. Older dishwashers use a grinding disposal to get rid of food particles instead of a nasty screen at the bottom.

Just got these two cover over the rusting spots on the prongs in my whirlpool dishwasher. Use them the first time and noticed that they were definitely a tight fit, but use some olive oil, cooking spray and use the rubber can opener and or jar opener, and they went on easily. I noticed, though that after the first wash, we had a smell of heated plastic. So we are going to rewash in the dishwasher again because it was really smelly. Otherwise they seem to stay on well.

These tine end caps are very difficult to put on. They will not fully slide down the tines - only about 1/4th of the way. My dishwasher is over 10 years old, and the tines are standard size.

Good product, however, difficult to slip onto the prongs in the dishwasher.

These are very hard to put on. I did find it easier after reading other reviews to use latex gloves and use a little bit of soap to make it slide on easier.
