The mat is bigger than I expected and thicker than I expected, however the ‘petal’ fold over one another to enable it to be used on the slope of the bath. My little granddaughter is just 4 months and has just progressed from the baby bath to the big bath and propping her on the slope of the bath doesn’t work as she wants to lie flat and kick her arms and legs and the thickness of the mat requires the bath to be filled with a lot more water than a thin plastic mat, however it is undoubtedly more cushioned than the usual thin plastic mats. When she can sit up, and the bath is being filled to a higher level anyway, I think it will be of great use. Likewise, if we had had a flat bottomed baby bath, it would have been really good to put in the bottom with the petals folded over, we had one of the ones with a sloping back and a bit of a seat and I don’t think it would have worked in that so well. It’s a lovely looking mat, bright and cheerful! Four stars from me because I can see the potential but it’s just not right for this in between stage.
